By itself, it won't. The way to override the boost cut is to unplug the manifold vacuum line, but don't unplug the MAP sensor. Don't cap off the MAP sensor, rather leave the filter on it and leave it open to atmosphere.
The E-manage will poorly control your fueling, over advance your ignition and add boost lag to your setup. That's pretty much it. |

ask him how...hahah that would be funny!!!
normally i would say 10-20 is possible with timing adjustments but the 3s isnt the happiest with timing. |

You won't make nearly that much! You make more power by using a piggyback to remove some of the safety margin Toyota programmed into the stock ECU. Do you really think Toyota detuned this setup by 30%? Of course not. I don't know any OEM who puts THAT much margin in.

i have no ideas lol . what i do know is that it makes alot of difference in a car.. i've seen it installed on an OEM turbo car that only had an IC, was automatic and it was mad !! First gear wouldn't stop spinning and it was an 13 horse turbo !

something else had to be done as well...as far as i know you cant even advance timing in the emanage! AFR alone does not really make power at all..timing is the key figure in everything.
Like i said i could understand if boost was turned up and the emanage helped poorly control the fuel...but just slapping a piggyabck ;like that on it WONT happen on a mr2. |

The emanage is crap for MR2's. I speak from experience. There is VERY limited latitude with tuning and uses all sorts of odd units to make changes. You never really know what it's doing with the ignition timing. And you'll mostly rely on "tricks" to get it working okay.
Btw you can advance timing, but you can't retard. The trick is to retard base timing by 2-4 degrees then advance it with the emanage. Playing with the AEM, it is a night and day difference. Download both the AEM and Greddy programs and see for yourself. |
