AFM / MAF conversion, MK1
I have a fairly hot 4age (small-port, mild cams, headers, CAI) that I am converting from AFM to MAF, using the Split-Second PSC1-009 piggy-back.
I started with a Ford V6 Hot-wire meter, because I had one. It turns out that it is too big. It never goes above 3.5 volts and I have to set all of my tuning Map to full rich just to get it to run. I need a smaller MAF. Anyon know of a good, readily available, Hot-wire MAF of the right size. It needs to be a 0-5 volts (not frequency) output. Dave |

Ok then try a stock 3.4L tacoma engine one...when n/a i hit around 70-80% max capacity s/c would see it max out....
That one isnt big at all. I could see it working well for you. Either that or the 1mz-fe Camry motor. |

fine one that you can put in any size tube like the 1zz/2zz swappers use.. instead of goign to a bigger tube, go to a smaller diameter tube?

Changing diameter of tube of a hotwire maf changes the readings (its how you up injector sizes, you increase piping diameter and its effective readings go down to compensate for the larger injectors.
