FMS unhooked

as i looked over my newly purchased car i noticed some kind of remote in the console which was out of my knowledge. it's hooked through the dash and is some kind of fuel management system. honestly, im a novice when it comes to that kind of stuff. i was told it's installed in the car, just disconnected. i was just wondering if its worth my time to connect this. is it going to make that big of an impact on the performance? and more importantly, is it possible to do "not having much knowledge on FMS"
