Change to our Side Mount Intercooler Kits
Change to our Sidemout Intercooler Kits
MR2 SW20 Sidemount Intercooler Kit - $399.99 : EMSPowered, High Quality, Great Service, Low Prices Hi everyone, just wanted to post to let everyone know we're making a small change to our sidemount intercooler kits. So far we've been supplying stainless steel t-bolt "lined" clamps with our kits. T-bolt clamps are GREAT, they hold more tightly than almost any other clamp around, but the small problem is that when you're new to t-bolt clamps it is sometimes easy to overtighten them without knowing it. This leads to premature damage to the expensive silicone couplers and also may lead to bending the pipe. This is not so much a "problem", but more of a user error type thing. And since most people buying/installing an intercooler are typically first timers we've decided to make a small change... We are now going to start shipping our intercooler kits with "lined" worm clamps. These are not regular worm clamps you purchase from your local auto store, they're specially designed to have a flat inner surface just like t-bolt clamps. This allows you to torque the clamps down fairly tight without damaging soft silicone or rubber parts (versus the regular perforated worm clamps that tend to cut into your nice expensive silicone couplers). The following pics show the difference between a lined clamp that we use and a standard perforated clamp: Perforated: ![]() "Lined" (what we use): ![]() Thanks for looking, and keep those suggestions coming. We only get better because of your suggestions!! Baktash |
