Idea for a new product Tash
You know what I think would be a really cool thing to see produced, which wouldnt be that hard of a thing to do, if it was popular enough or sought after enough, would be an adapter plate to run a gen3 3SGTE manifold on a gen2 head. In light of doing the gen3 electronics conversion on my car, I want the gen3 IM but nobody makes an adapter. A few people have made em, and they work, but nobody has disclosed info or wants to make them.
You should ask the MR2 guys and see what interest would be. I know Id be interested. |

Hmmmm. I'll definitely look into it. I think the main challenge with that would be the different bolt/stud pattern.

Gen3 swap DONE!!
|
I know this has like nothing to do with this thread so delete my post if you need to I just didn't think it was important enough for a new thread. I have an idea too, what about like a after market shield for the stock turbo manifold? Like a polished alm or SS one. I'd buy that in a sec.

Luni, would a TVIS removal spacer and GenII Intake Manifold suffice? I'm sure Baktash could have those made easily.

this is interesting, would the outcome be equal to a gen3 swap power wise if you swap the IM and the turbo? a cheaper alternative.

The Gen3 has many differences other than the intake manifold. It has more aggressive cams, different heady porting, larger injectors, different ECU mapping, etc... |

To get things aligned, you'll need to bolt the adapter to the manifold, then the adapter to the head. Then slot and TIG boss the adapter to hold the upper bolts on for better fitment. The person that used to make the manifold adapter is still around btw. He was just a small time enthusiast and every now and then sold the adapters on ebay. |

^^ Any idea who it was? I'd be interested to have a chat with him and possibly have him make them to sell through EMSPowered or even buy the rights to his design and have them made if it is a well thought out design.

I've had e-mail correspondence with him before. I'll see if I can dig up his e-mail and send it to you when I find it.
