New Subwoofer Enclosures
There's some interest gathering on the other various forums for these, and we might consider making them if there is enough interest for at least 20 pre-orders.
We've had a prototype built for over a year, just haven't had time or resources to get them produced. The prototype is going in our 2009 sponsor car, so we should have some pictures of it up soon. We may produce them if there's enough interest for at least 20 units. Haven't really had time to give it much thought yet. Here are some pics of the prototype we have to give you an idea. It's all fiberglass and fits right in where the stock storage box would normally go. It's made to use two 8" subwoofers. It's molded to fit perfectly against the firewall and center console/armrest: |

Not sure about price yet. We'll have to work on the details.

Could absolutly be interested in that one. Even more interested if the was an option to choose between, 1 or 2 speakers, and in both 6", 8" and 10" sice.
Should be coverd with black vinyl though, to match the rest of the interior. |

10's wont do well in that spot, no chance. 8's are pushing it as it is. We might do it as a dual 6.5" subwoofer setup. Haven't had time to touch this project in a while, will probably get back on it in a couple months.

The picture looks like it would fit a single 10" shallow mount, such as the rockford fosgate shallow mount sub. The on in a ready box, P3L, isn't any bigger than what your box seems to look... Just different shape.
A project that would be exiting, would be if you delivered it with the subs already mounted ![]() For instance, I know that Elemental Designs make a killer 6" woofer. It's called the e3.6. Two of those already fitted would be great. Another well preforming sub is the Earthquake SWS 8. That one would also be exiting if you could fit in. If you deliver the box with premounted subs, you have the uppertunity to tune the box to the sub. You also have the possibility to maybe dress the box with cloth or vinyl. If you could hide the subs under the vinyl, the car wouldn't be as likly to be broken into. But thats just a few ideas. I'm looking forward to see how this project turns out. |
