installing emspowered exhaust

ok well i finally got off my lazy butt and decided to install my headers and exhaust so....... Headers were easy the exhaust is where i am having problems... how the hell does it fit..i took it to a mechanic friend and he was at a loss..
I have:
- exhaust
- short b-pipe
- long b-pipe

I'm guessing i need the smaller one but one side of the flange has 3 bolt end and the other is 2 bolt... so one end isnt fitting right .. keep in mind i am a total novice at installing but I'm just confused any help will be appreciated

Also my car is N/A if that helps

I just tried installing my EMS powered exhaust this past weekend.

Recommendation: take it to a muffler shop.

The kit, while extremely nice, is NOT a direct bolt-on. You will need to modify some things to make it fit and it will probably not be aligned with the rear when you do put it on which will require even more modifying.

Total cost for install: $155.00. It should have been FREE.

SpoolU, what kind of problems did you have with the install? We've sold around 100 of these over the last 2 years and there have been maybe 4 or 5 people with installation problems.

I install mine last 2 months ago at the muffler shop... And the only thing that they mod is the one of the hangers... Inside of the crossmember.. And that's it.. Reason why I went to the muffler shop is because no space if I do it myself... And I only pay 30...
And I do highly recomend this exhaust!!! Nice quality and good sound!!!

1. The thickness of the hanger going towards the b-pipe that goes through the rubber mount (on the engine brace) is too thick for the rubber hole. They had to drill the rubber hole larger.

2. The hanger holes for each end of the tail pipe were too small for the stock bolts to fit through, and they had to drill out the holes so that the bolts could fit.

3. Missing locknuts for the hangers that hold up the mufflers. Since the stock ones are welded onto the stock muffler, you assumed that people could get those off.

1. The rubber mount is extremely stiff on cars that have had the stock exhaust from the beginning of their life. Especially on older cars, you dont have to drill it, just takes a bit of shoving and pushing.

2. First time i've heard that one. Your car may have had non-OEM hanger bolts for whatever reason. Haven't had any problems with this in the past.

3. We don't ship them with locknuts, you just reuse the OEM hanger bolts/nuts. Haven't seen a single aftermarket exhaust for the MR2 that ships with new hanger bolts, none.

So they basically charged you $155 to shove the hanger through the rubber mount and drill the holes on the hanger larger and put 2 locknuts on? Sounds like a ripoff and nothing really wrong with the exhaust.

They also had to blow torch the ATS b-pipe hanger off because they couldn't get it off as well as bend the hanger on the drivers' side tailpipe because it was touching the tow hook.

In their defense, they did work for 2 hours on the car. It was a pain-in-the-arse. I guess close to $70 hour for labor. This is why I try to work on my own car. But if I don't have the resources, I have no choice but to submit to the wolves.
