I recently installed a 20 valve silver top in my 85 mr2 and want to put in new spark plugs. and am wondering what I should use?? (with performance in mind of course). also having trouble getting the car to idle, any thoughts??

I have changed out the sparkplugs now to NGK Iradium type in about all the engines I have. I've been a NGK V power user since the 80/90s, I guess that makes me bias towards NGK.

Straight NGK Coppers or V-Powers. Only thing to use for performance. Change them every other oil change. For $1.9x each it's not too big a hit in the wallet. The Iridiums are ok for longevity, but they have the problem that under high heat and pressure conditions, the tiny electrode tends to glow, and stay glowing resulting in dieseling or pre-ignition. I use the straight coppers in everything, and love them.
