Another 4agze question

i'm new to this whole forum thing... So I wondering swapping in a 4agze into '85 NA 4age, would it be easier to modify existing wiring harness, or taking engine harness out of SC '88? Anything else i should be considering or needing?

Taking the harness out of an SC car would be far easier. They have different wiring lengths for many sensors, solenoids, etc., and many of those are not on an NA. If you're planning on swapping transmissions while you're at it, you will also need axles and shift cables from an SC car, and you will need to slot the rear tranny body mount holes. You will may also have to extend your wiring for your starter.

Thanks for the info CpuZapper. Would it be just engine harness? or complete? Wiring for this car is really the only thing concerning me.

To get it to run, you will just need the engine harness, but there are a couple other little things that, well... if you're crazy and want to try and replace the entire body harness... the SC car has a fuel selector switch on the dash (premium/regular - it changes ignition timing to prevent detonation if you have to run regular) and the SC light in the gauge cluster. The wires for these are not in your '85, however your '85 probably (as all of them did IIRC) has auto climate control, and I doubt the SC you have did, so that part of the harness needs to stay... sorry, thinking out loud here. It would probably be best to get the engine bay harness from the SC, and run the wires separately for the fuel switch and SC light. There are wiring diagrams somewhere... I'll have to see if I can find them.

Have you found a source for the 4agze motor? I too am thinking of doing a swap and I am trying to find out how much it is going to run.

i got the engine out of a totaled mr2 out of a junk yard... took a while to find it. I'd say that the best bet.
