Help-WTB Used Motor

I am in need of a used motor for my 89. I came across a JDM 4A-GE Black Top 20 Valve out of a 90-96 Toyota Corolla. Can I use this in my 89 with my current tranny.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Thanks Blown59, will it bolt right up? Or will I have to fabricate new mounts? i am also considering rebuilding the current motor but the belt tensioner threaded hole is stripped, can this be repaired succesfully with a thread replacement product, like heli-coil?

Any info is appreciated.

It will bolt right up... no fab required. Now, you will have to reroute your coolant lines, but this is a simple task. If you get your wiring harness from mr220v and have all the vaccuum hoses, coolant hoses and a good idea of what your doing... this swap can be done in a weekend. I assisted a neighbor on his, he didnt have all his ducks in a row and it took about a month or so. And he piddled with unnessessary cosmetic stuff...

Its motor time!

Thanks again Blown59, I think rewelding is a better idea too. Sounds like heli-coil is just a band-aid. I am dtill not sure if I am going to rebuild or by used. Of course I am trying to go the cheapest route. But it seems that they both are close to the same amount of money. I will post pics of either the rebuild or used motor install. Thanks again.
