Turnkey Swaps

Hey, It's been days and a half since I posted on this board. I recall someone saying something about a turkey swap for the MK1 and a 20v... But I can't find anything through searching. There's every chance it's out there, and I'm just doing it wrong, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

I guess I'm just looking for general info... so ya.

Where are you located? Tora Motorsports in Marietta, GA can do those.

mr220v will respond later on. He makes plug and play wiring harnesses for the 20v and has done close to 30 of them so far. He can make them even with a butchered harness, test it on one of his MR2s, and mail it to you, so the hardest part of the swap will be out of the way. If you are local to Atlanta, Tora can do the physical motor swap or you can do it yourself if you are so inclined. We have Doug (mr220v) do the wiring.

I make a custom engine harness for the 20v. Its based off of your 16v engine harness, so i don't have to get a complete/uncut 20v engine harness. This is key since most 20v motors come with the harness cut at the firewall.

I work closey with Tora and if you are in the Atlanta area, installation is available. We also have easy access to 20v motors.

Actually, northern California. :X

However, I probably wouldn't be against a road trip out there if everything really is all in one place and what not. Obviously I'd rather not, but hey, might be a fun summer get away... :o

What would a swap cost if it was done out there? I've seen very different prices from place to place so...

You probably get varying prices from places that aren't very experienced in this specific swap. I would say it's worthwhile to make the trip for someone who has done 30 of these stinking things. You can't beat that experience!

Heck, I drove a good chunk of that distance to simply buy my low-mileage bone stock MR2 (at the time, something like 6 or 7 years ago now).

I don't have to see your car to do the wiring. Of the swaps i've done, I have only seen in person 2 of the cars i've made harnesses for. Most of what I do is through the mail. My finished product looks like a factory/oem Toyota harness. 4 of the harnesses i've made were sold to people in California.

So, if you can get a motor in and out of a car, you can do a 20v swap.

I know, but I'm not sure I want to swap the engine myself... :X I'd also like to find the 6 speed I heard came with some blacktops(?) and stuff so. I'm sure I could get someone else to swap the engine and stuff and do the wiring myself for much less than getting some random garage to do it all tho.

Edit: be do the wiring myself, I mean get it from you (mr220v) and instal it myself...
