swapped engine from 89 corolla gt-s to my 87mr2

I recently swapped the engine from an 89 corolla gt-s to my 87mr2. I have everything switched over and have the car kind of running. I am having alot of timing issues which will be looked at soon by a local shop.

I was wondering if I can swap out the fwd tranny from the corolla. I know I have seen posts regarding this, but not much info in regards to the specs for new drill holes, etc...for the linkage. Can this work and does anyone have pics or anything on this procedure.

Anyone else who might have done this swap and may have any helpful hints in regards to anything that might help get my baby back on the road would be greatly appreciated.
