OK i own a 87' mr2 n/a and am going to do a 4agze swap in a couple months and have questions. So far i plan on getting a jdm 4agze from an mr2 with un-cut harness and ecu.
is the swap directly bolt in, my tranny starter is under the exhaust manifold does this mean i have the c-50 tranny and not the c-52, is this a problem some people say for the electrical it is direct plug in for 87&+ and some disagree which is it will i need to change any coolant hoses can i use the n/a ignition since it looks like i will be using the sc tranny what axles do i need to find if any how can i tell the difference from the different 4agze's and which one would be the best, hp is a big plus but looking for as little modification as possible |

I'm doing a swap now with a us gze into a '86 and even though I've got an sc tranny I'm going to go with the lighter C-50 tranny. That way I can use the stock '86 axles as well. Also, I've always wondered how many guys go through the trouble of swapping over the jdm tranny's linkage so they'll face correctly in the us 2. As I recall, finding the right axles is a bitch if you go with the gze tranny. Good luck.
