ze would be an easier swap and is a lot easier to get power out of as it is already force fed.

What would the difference be in swapping a JDM motor versus a USDM motor? Where are good places to find each?

There is no difference between a USDM or JDM AW11 4A-GZE.
There are several other versions of the GZE from the Corolla that made a bit more power. The AE101 GZE is usually the most sought after JDM GZE because it also uses MAP and DLI, IIRC. |

Sweet. I hear the JDM motor comes without an EGR, though. I have emissions here, so that wont fly. Any suggestions on where to buy a USDM motor?

I just found a JDM GZE that I think I'm gonna get, just have to haggle over the price. The only prob is there is no ecu for it. anyone know where I can pick up an ECU, or stand alone, or is there a piggy back for my stock 88 ECU?

But with the power of the v8 it would be worth it. There was a guy with some vids on youtube with a caddy v8 in his. Those things have nice torque down low and its a much nicer feeling powerband. Nothing like the 4age when you hit 3500 your head gets pushed back into the headrest. With the v8 your head would just be stuck in the headrest the entire time lol.

^twincharger systems are the coolest, imo, partially because of the larger power band, and partially because of the technical brilliance of the system when it work properly (i'm not sure brilliance is the word i'm looking for, but you know what i mean)
Ya it would be AMAZING power, but i would only stuff it in the middle, like the toystar, BUT... that's way above my skill level, but then again V8 in the front probably would be as well... lol |
