4agze DLI w/ C50 tranny Question

so I got my swap done.
but when i'm doing around 60 70mph the rpm's are at like 4-5500rpm. I don't know for sure the speed but I was on a road that is 60 and I wasn't catching any body and no one was catching me so I had to be at around 60mph but my rpm's where close to 5K is this normal. and the little vent hole on the trans was spitting fluid everywhere but I think I over filled it.
I look in the toyota manual and it has the Maximum speed per gear listed, I'll post a pic. Its like driving in third gear on the high way or something but I know its in fifth cus I can down shift into 4th and the revs go way up. I thought the N/A trans and S/C trans differences was the first 4 gears and fifth was the same. or am I wrong do I still have to deal with the high rpm"s

If I go slow then 5th will be at like 4K but it still fills like I'm going slower than 60mph anyone know what my rpm's should be with the 85 mr2 trans??
sorry so long but please help!!!!

I'm not sure about that tranny but with my stock set up. Bluetop in an 87 with a c52 I believe, my rpms are about 4-4.5k on highway in 5th gear.

Depends how hard you are pulling. Highways are fun cause It's like really quick change through all the gears. On ramps I hit in third then 4th then by the time I'm out, I'm in 5th. I hope I'm making sense I just woke up for class.

The kid I bought my silvertop said he had that transmission I could have but I didnt want it because he said I'd be doing like 60mph at 5k rpm's. I guess yours is about right with what that kid told me.

On a side note, I thought these things had a speed limiter thing so the top speed was like 113mph?

Thumbs up

Well I have found the problem. I have a tach converter for the signal to be read by the old tach and it has to be calibrated the right way so I have to find out the right calibration I think I got it down now I'm at about 3-4K on highway

Thats where it should be. Last resort would be an aftermarket tach. That's if you are in diar need of knowing your rpm's.

At 3800 RPM in 5th gear your speed should be 70 MPH. These are numbers from a oem c-52 Mr2.
