AW11 to 3SGTE Swap Questions
Is there anything I should keep off the AW11 for the 3SGTE? Is anything universal or whould I start brand new?

What do you mean by that? You replace only what you need to. When I did it I swapped the fuel pumps(the 3sge one fit into the mkI frame perfectly), chopped the mounts out and removed the ecu. You still use the mkI body harness and the grey plug on the left side of the bay that used to plug into the 4age loom. For the water pipes I used the original ones in combo with some new ones and am still using the mkI fuel filter with the 4age fuel line since the celica one was too short, they were the same diameter but I'm not sure about the turbo lines they may be bigger I haven't put them side by side. Also using the original dash with a big oil light instead of a gauge, if you want a gauge you just swap the sender units over. You also use the original shift cables to the mkII box, celica box needs something else doing to make it work.
You wire the 3sgte harness to the mkI body harness plug in the boot and the main power wire for the dashboard etc into the grey plug in the engine bay and also take the starter signal from that same plug. Done right the car should start straight up assuming everything has been correctly wired and plugged in. Only a 5 day response time as well. |

Ok,
Well I dropped the AW11 but I took out the wire harness because it got severed and it was messed up anyways. I also took out sensors, cruise control and some other things like that. I guess that kind of what I meant. Basically is there anything I need to make sure I do not mess up while dropping the engine was the question. I just didnt word it very well. |

Unhock everything and feed it through the firewall should you have to and then drop very slowly checking very often to see if anything has caught up. Don't worry too much about removing things you don't think you need you can do that with the engine on the ground. Remember to drain the gearbox and remove the axles. Try to remove the axles from the hub because you won't need them anymore and they will just get in the way until you take them out. There are threads on removing the axles from the hubs on here somewhere.
