You'd probably go with one of these first though:
JDM 98 99 Toyota 3S GE Beams Engine RAV4 MR2 3SGE VVTi:eBay Motors (item 330339575623 end time Jul-02-09 15:05:47 PDT) The beams mk1 has been done, and makes a bit more power. Not too expensive either. |

Nevermind the SR then. I am going to search for Beams Mk1 swaps. Can you make a harness for that? Also I wonder what the weight difference is between the beams vs 4age 16v vs 4age 20v |

Can an have made harnesses for beams mk1's.
I think the weight difference is 30lbs. If you're up to the mounting issues, it's a good swap. $1800 is what they normally run as full swap sets. |

A lot more work than throwing in a 20v and playing with some plumbing. |

The axles and alternator are the least of the issues installing a BEAMS into a mk1. If you get one from a Celica (which is most common) you'll have the alternator on the exhaust side. You can also use the stock NA axles from the mk2 with no modification. Since, the cheapest BEAMS' come with automatics you'll have to have an S54 transmission (if you want to be cheap). You'll also need a 3sgte flywheel and pressure plate and 5sfe clutch. This is the quick explaination of what you'll need. It is far from the complete transplant step by step exlpaination.

SR20 VVL is a great Engine, but for price wise go with the beams. SR20 is just more interchangeable with other SR20 parts
