Separate STACKED CD/DVD Reciever and Navigation Units? My new ideas inside

So I want a new CD player in my MR2 and I want it to be a large, DoubleDin touchscreen. I also want Navigation if possible, but I'm not all that impressed with the combination units. I want a high quality CD receiver and a separate Nav unit since they are so much cheaper and more usable when you separate them. Unfortunately, I have no good place to put a small Garmin 4.3" widescreen unit and realize I need a custom install.

My idea is to buy a decent receiver such as these:
Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD DVD receiver at Crutchfield.com (http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130AVHP410/Pioneer-AVH-P4100DVD.html?tp=20220)
Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD DVD receiver at Crutchfield.com (http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130AVHP310/Pioneer-AVH-P3100DVD.html?tp=20220)
Alpine iXA-W404 Digital media receiver at Crutchfield Signature (http://signature.crutchfield.com/s_500IXAW404/Alpine-iXA-W404.html?tp=5684)
Alpine iVA-W203 DVD receiver at Crutchfield Signature (http://signature.crutchfield.com/s_500IVAW203/Alpine-iVA-W203.html?tp=5684)

And a navigation unit like this:
RoadMate Series (http://www.magellangps.com/products/product.asp?segID=354&prodID=2207)
That Magellan is a new 7" WVGA (800x420) touchscreen navigation unit and it is selling for only $230 on Crutchfield right now.

I'd fabricate my center panel to fit these 2 units and move the climate control to the glovebox with some extended wires. hopefully, it would come out something like this:

I know it would be a lot of work, but at least i'd have a really nice Nav unit for about $250 and a decent headunit with lots of features and ipod control for $300-400. Also, the 2 huge screens would look awesome and it would be nice to have navigation on 100% of the time while I play with music. What do you think?
