Need a 91 JDM downstream O2 sensor replacement recomendation

Ok to make a long story short... I have a 91 N/A that I swapped a 91 JDM 3S-GTE with ECU. Modified the head and installed a fully functional US Emissions system. No Codes and drove like a rock. Got it smogged and it almost passed. So I was going to change the cat. But had a fatal engine miss-hap (all my fault). So two shops, 5 mechanics, about $12,000 and a year with no car, I finally got it back. During this long rebuild process I had the Cat. changed. Well it passed smog with flying colors, both visually and emission readings. But now, it boost like crap. A rock solid no higher than 7psi. will not go faster than 105 mph and takes for ever getting there. But still no codes. Trouble shot everything. the only difference that I can come up with is:

1. The JDM cat. has a 2 wire downstream O2 sensor. The only Cat I could find was a USDM Cat with no downstream hole. After running it with no downstream O2 sensor, and no codes, I figured that it was not needed. But after not being able to get boost, I am starting to think differently. So has anyone replaced there 91 JDM Downstream O2 sensor with no performance problems? If so what part and or part number did you use? I am planing on drilling and tapping for a downstream sensor. The spot is castted in the cat housing but there is no hole.

2. Now this is just a shot in the dark, but I think the first shop(shaddy) during there overheating trouble shooting process, removed the thermostat. Now it takes forever to get to operational temp, and if I am driving downhill in neutral, the engine water temp will go below 60 degrees C and take a while to get back to operational temp once back in gear. So maybe if the ECU is sensing a cold engine it will not fully boost boost. The only flaw in this thought is that at operational temp, I still have no boost. But I will be installing a new thermostat anyway.

Any an all other suggestions welcome... Thanx guys!!!

I hope it's nothing, but still wanted the advice of all you exerts. I have two questionable issues. I've got a '91 Turbo, all stock.

- My MR2 idles at about 1500-1800 RPM? Is this normal?

- I've never seen my engine temp gauge over 1/3 of the way. It's starts out at the very bottom, and as I drive for a while it gradually goes higher to about 1/3. The car runs great, so maybe it's just a sensor?

Any feedback is appeciated.

Thanks.

FCD and MBC install questions

Hi all,

I can't seem to get any help on the german board so i thought i'd try my luck here ;). First off I would like to know whether anyone here knows how to wire this FCD in:

LED-FCD (http://websworld.org/marcel/tech/led-fcd.html) in the correct fashion. I really don't want to use trial and error here.

Secondly I have just received my Pro-Z MBC and I'm not quite sure about the install here either. I know it needs to be placed between the hose coming from the compressor housing and going to the wastegate actuator, but what is with the hose going from the actuator to the T-VSV?? Does that need to be capped or does it stay as it is or what?? :)

I can rebuild my motor in my sleep but this **** has me stumped!

Cant seem to figure out why my car doesnt want to run

Hello everyone,
I havent posted on here in a while but here is my current situation, hopefully someone out there will have some insight for me :)

My car has been down for roughly a year now,
and I just recently got the funds together to get it back up and running.
Right now I have the car attempting to start but never reaches idle,
and also wont stay running unless u give it some throttle. (It only trys to run like this sometimes)

Neways I just put in some stock inejectors/fpr as well as the stock ecu.
The problem im having is, with the stock ecu plugged in, the fuel pump never runs.
But when I plug in my Power FC the pump will run and the car will attempt to start.

I did have some rather old gas in the car when I first tryed cranking it, which i pumped out and replaced with some fresh 93.
But it still didnt want to start and idle under its own power.

What else could be causing this problem?

Im wondering if my AFM isnt working properly and maybe the reason it doesnt want to idle?

Im desperately trying to get my car running after its been down so long and its just trying to give me more and more problems...

If anyone has any ideas for me to try im all ears.

Thanks to anyone who can help!

-Derek

(forgot to mention the cold start injector has been removed)
(Guess I left out alot, my car was originally NA and was swapped to 93T.
The old owner hacked the body and engine harness horribly.
Ive replaced the engine harness and have a body harness on the way, thanks to jeffbeezy73,
but I dont feel switching the harness is going to solve my problem.)

What is the value of this car in today's market? Unemployment is high and the economy is bad so I want a good deal if I purchase the car.

It was purchased new in Florida and has spent its life in Tennessee so rust is not an issue but the car has 150,000 miles and the present owner tells me it will need a new turbo soon. The car is totally stock with no modifications.

Move this thread if I have put it in the wrong section.

The clutch in my car is supose to only have 9k on it, but the kid i got the car from was an idiot, so idk. it grabs hard no slip but this is my first mr2 and it just feels a little too rough. i have to let it out somewhat quik or it squeels off the line. but in doing so it sounds like the motor is gonna hit me in the head  any suggestions?
