Umm, no, not even remotely close. You really shouldn't be so presumptuous with those that are trying to help you. I've only met Harry one time over 2 years ago. Anyway, he mentioned the clip to me before and stated all the problems you mentioned with it. If it's the same clip, it was purchased from someone that had filed an insurance claim on it since it was dropped in shipping, and thus the cracked transmission casing. I'm not sure why he'd represent it otherwise. Do you have an email or other documentation you could post?

There really is no need for that. We sent a message to Harry. Give him a chance to respond and make the situation right. Comments should be limited to relevant information. Thanks.

We have locked their account down to only see the feedback forum until this matter is resolved. We are very disappointed with their failure to respond so far. If there has been no effort made toward resolution in 10 days, they will be permanently banned from this forum. The ball is in your court Harry. We know you are aware of this issue. Please make the situation right, and do so expiditiously.

We just got in the office this morning. I have not been on the boards for a few days, and I have received no messages about this. I was told this morning by Viperside and Node about this post. I will pull Harry from his duties and we will discuss this situation. I will post again within the hour.

for what it's worth, i've dealt with Harry and Mindy countless times, and they've always been good to me. Last transaction, they helped me out with a rear brake caliper, but I picked up the wrong one. Went back the next day and they let me swap it out w/o any problems.

If you have a post in this thred that was deleted, please understand that threads like this are serious, and do not need to be cluttered with unrelated comments.

MR2Guru relies on the MR2 community for their continued success as a business. It is obviously in their best interest to straighten out situations such as these to the best of their ability. At this point, we have only heard one side of the story. However, we've committed to the "customer is always right" attitude unless things are clarified to be otherwise. In situations like these, only one party can be out any funds, so we believe it is important to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Okay, Sorry for the delay in reply but I needed Harry to sit with me on this one. For those of you that don't yet know, this is Mindy. I handle nearly 100% of our online tech support, phone support and sales. Harry is mostly hands on and has little time to spend on the computer or phone. This is why I am here. I have not been on the boards since before the date of Kelvin's (Street Speed) post, which can easily be confirmed by the moderators. I was just notified of this post this morning by Viperside and Node. I have not received any emails regarding this matter.

Firstly, the clip in question was drop-shipped, and NOT dropped in shipping. The engine set you think of, Brian, is still here and is being sold as parts only. Although we have only met in person once, I assume you know us better through our many brief conversations. I'm thinking thats what you are getting at and I thank you for your support.

The clip cost Street Speed $3900, including shipping. I am in no way ashamed of this price as anyone knows that price including shipping cannot be beaten on even eBay, not to mention the fact that none of them have the number or positive percentage feedback we have. MR2 Warehouse/PA Auto Racing WILL NOT sell a clip without install, and those who do cost more than this price once you add on shipping charges. Considering how much I lost out on labor, I feel this amount is hardly worth "screwing" anyone over.

When Street Speed inquired about a clip, I called to my distributors to find him a nice, stock engine with low miles. I found a very clean clip (not cleaned up, but realistic) with stock airbox and bypass valve. Anyone dealing in clips knows these are some of the things to look for when shopping. I was originally told that the kick harness was un-cut. When the clip was processed for shipping, it was noted that it was in fact, cut. I immediately called Street Speed to ask him if this was acceptable. I told him this would require some wiring and offered my assistance if he had any problems with that. He agreed the clip was acceptable and the deal was closed. The clip arrived to him within 2 weeks.

Before this particular clip was ever ordered, we offered Kelvin tech support on another swap that was not acquired by us.These calls occurred daily for 2 weeks. When the clip he ordered from us arrived, the persistent calls began (often 3+ times daily), many of which were made after business hours. The first week of calls about this clip were fairly easily handled by Harry as it was a slow business week. Harry and I have both spoken with Kelvin on NUMEROUS occasions. It became apparent to us that the swap was his first MR2->Gen III and required much attention/tech support. After the first week, the calls continued just as frequently (again 3+ times daily) but there was less time for Harry to handle these calls from underneath cars. This I can take blame for as we are a service shop more than sales, and it became increasingly difficult for Harry to personally answer every call. There were many calls that were not returned if you count 3 calls in one day being returned once at the end of the day.

Quote:
he seemed nice at first untill he got my money... after that no dice....
Harry spoke with Kelvin kindly on many occasions when he had time, especially within the first week. Considering he blatantly refused to speak with me instead of Harry, I was unable to get all of his calls answered/returned to his standards. I understand that there are not many women that know what they are talking about when it comes to cars, but the little I forced him to converse with me I believe were more than helpful. Considering Kelvin spoke with Jim on occasion hinted me to the fact it was just me that he preferred not to speak with. I persistently offered to help Kelvin personally when Harry was busy or out of the office but my assistance would not suffice. This happened on numerous occasions as he has called numerous times where I have answered. In each of these calls, you were very curt with me. This clarifies any so-called avoidance. Harry has spoken with Kelvin on at least 15-20 occasions, not to add the calls that were not answered by Harry personally.

I tried my best to supply Kelvin with information that would help him to no avail.

Here is some of the information that I have emailed to Kelvin on 03/09/07:

If there are any wires that are a different color on one harness or the other that don't exist in the other harness, don't connect them until you can find what they go to. There are a couple of wires in the Gen3 harness that don't get used; he pink w/ green stripe I think and a green w/ white stripe.

Harry himself does not post on the forum but once in a blue moon. He does not have time for these things. I have already stated this.

I have heard nothing about the transmission, nor has this problem been described here. If there is a problem with the transmission, I am still here to help. I need to know these things in a timely manner so that they may be covered by warranty. This is not a problem for me to handle for you.

Quote:

If you had lived closer, Harry would have taken the time to help you IN PERSON. This is something that you may confirm with the locals. Those sorts of comments are immature and presumptuous. I truly hope that you were not this rude when speaking on the phone with Harry as you were with me.

Quote:

Again, with the rude/immature comments. These are not necessary, and much less so on your first post. These do more damage to your credibility than my own. I can understand your frustration, but please be mature.

The phone number I have for you is not 3146047690. The number I have is 636-677-4303, which is the number all your return calls have been directed to. It has not been conveniently lost nor forgotten.

In closing, Kelvin's posts are a mere 2 days apart, and my account being limited without any notice (last message from MR2Board traced to 3/24/07 for private message) after short period of time -3 days total- is extreme considering other vendors with such problems are either not limited at all or after a considerable number of weeks. I would link an example, but I am under limited access. What is fair for the goose is fair for the gander. This, to me, shows favoritism considering our small but good reputation here. If 1/10th of our customer base posted here I would have a considerably higher iTrader rating. I wish people would make the same effort Kelvin has with POSITIVE experiences, as this would reveal a more realistic character portrayal on our behalf.

Kelvin, you were adequately informed about the kick panel harness being cut, and if there are any other parts that are damaged or missing, I need to know in order to help you. I understand you feeling the need to speak with Harry specifically, but I assure you that this is something I can handle beyond adequacy.

a lot of the things you are saying here is true i am not saying it isn't.....

but me and woody called you guys the very first time cause brad from rims and things was the one who gave me your number ......
so you came highly reccomended....... i do a lot of business with brad......

then when i called you guys and spoke with harry the very first time explained to him that we have never done an american 2nd generation turbo to 2nd gen n/a...... and asked for some info and he gladly helped which we are not idiots over here and can follow instruction the swap went great with no problems cause we had everything .... from our old car..........
there was no repetive phone calls about it for 2 weeks.... it took us 2 days to do the swap ......

on another note we then had another customer bring in a n/a and wanted a third gen dropped in there ..... so after doing the first on with ease i spoke with harry and asked him if it was the same set up..... as easy as plug and play from one to the next he ensured me thats it .... he also said that he could get me a half cut untouched in excellent condition with everything there nothing cut and very clean...... he was selling it for 3900...
well me being a business i can get halfcuts for less than what he was selling me for but i figured the guy was nice enough to help me out i would spend some money with him .... and it was uncut everything needed to drop right in.... well a few days later he called and said that the harness was cut and he would help me with the wiring it was just 8 wires that needed to be connected.... well when time came we got our motor in everything was ready to be wired in come to find out harry didn't know what wires to connector cause he himself from what mindy said hasn't done only but a couple of these swaps.......... (and you are called mr2 guru you should know everything there is to know right)........so yes they did email me pics and wiring diagrams but what they had sent didn't make no sense cause it wasn't what we needed.......

so after talking to josh(dr.tweak) we were just one wire off from starting he helped us out and 1 minute later car started and ran but after test driving the tranny was grinidin through all the gears ..........

thats when i had called mr2guru back and no response ...... no call back.......no harry..... no mindy...... you have caller id see that i am calling and no answer..... the thing is i called you for about 1 day to figure out wiring not weeks like you are procastinating to these people about..........

so again if this is the only way i could've gotten you guys to respond is buy going on a forum that you guys do business with to hear from you is pretty pathetic.........

i have left messages with your answer machine to call back at least 6 times and no one from your vicinity had the balls to pick up the phone and return my phone calls so i came here to this board ...... so in alll to make my customer happy cause my name around here is good with my customers and i go out of my way to make them happy cause they are the ones that put food in my mouth so in the long run i have to spend money now and buy a another tranny that does work cause you or your company will not call me back......

i even contacted brad from rims and things and spoke to him about what you all did to me cause it was wrong and jacked up.......

so thats the truth and the whole story behind this all............

you wanna make things right pay me back for time i wasted and a transmission i'm gonna have to buy for this customer......

if not thats your call i'm sure in the long run it will catch up with you...
enough people would have read this and you know what you did and your in business and so am i..... what people say about your business can make you or break you...

if this thread gets deleted and people wanna take harry's side it doesn't bother me .....

i wouldn't havwe wasted my time out of work we do here to just come on a site and bash someon's business for no reason .... so think what you may i know what really happened and so does harry ....

so do whats right and fix your problem with us.....

thanks streetspeed......
