MR2 WAREHOUSE + RPM GARAGE

Where do l start? Wanted a BEAMS engine so I was introduced to MR2 warehouse, they said they had one available but would only sell it to me if l paid him extra what he charges for installation. This was a low, 10,000-mile clip. So l paid him. To my TOTAL SURPRISE I FOUND RPM GARAGE SELLING THE SAME CLIP ON e-bay. Well l guess we all know where MR2 warehouse gets his clips from now!
Got my clip after paying even extra for washing and quarantine of the clip at customs for the shit dirty condition it was in.
When l saw it l just cried, this a 10,000 mile car????????
Well if it was it was standing in a yard for a long time.
When l questioned DAVE at MR2 WAREHOUSE the emails stopped and wont answer his phone. HE GARENTEED THE ENGINE WAS GENUINE NOT BOUGHT FROM A JUNK YARD.
When l questioned KEITH at RPM GARAGE he said “ What do you expect a new engine this is 9 Years old”
I WONT PUT THIS RUSTED UP THING IN MY CAR.
When l questioned the mileage he said, “He quotes what was on the cluster”,” he has no idea what the previous owner did” IS IT THE CLUSTER OF THIS ENGINE ?
Apparently he starts the engine before buying them YEH RIGHT.
Well this engine will have a complete tear down and l will replace all the rusted parts pumps, bolts etc, well rebuild.
I DON’T TRUST MR2 WAREHOUSE OR RPM GARAGE
Beware what you buy without seeing it in person!!!! PERIOD

Thanks for the post. I've always wondered about feedback from MR2 Warehouse. Honestly, I've never read anything bad. However, that doesn't necessarily mean all is good.

Catch 22 position. You are paying for an engine befor you see it. They will not sell the clip b/c as he says he makes his living from transplant. All cool or is it ? You buy an engine and pay extra for low mileage unit. Is it ? do you think MR2 WAREHOUSE is going to tell you. Ive stumbled across this b/c l received the engine.
Dont get me wrong Dave is probably a good guy but HE IS RELYING ON RPM GARAGE to tell him the truth. And thats where you can argue until the cows come home. RPM GARAGE will say that is the cluster of the car ,IS IT ?
I should have bought an air ticket to Hong Kong approx $800 WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT IT and saved $8,000.
My advise BO NOT BUY A CLIP WITHOUT SEEING IT , PERIOD

LOL i guess you should have dealt with RPM Garage directly.
10.000 miles is pretty low and suspect, probably a crashed car then, which is why it was dirty as hell probably.
I got a clip from RPM Garage and mine was *EXACTLY* as he stated, and i saw he did start it up to test it, compression on each cyl was correct, and mine also started on first try.
Sure it was a bit dirty and had some rust here and there, yes it is 9 years old so it will have some wear/tear/rust on it
Dunno dude, i had a great deal with the guy, i just wouldnt deal with 2nd or 3rd dealer, i know its a fashionable thing to do to be a double or triple reseller, but you shouldnt be lazy and not want to do a little work to get what you want....it took me all of 15mins to figure out the source of engines, sure it would have been even better to deal directly with the place that chops the cars in Japanland but i dont speak jap nor did i have time & patience. I am sure it would have been a bit more work to get a deal of less than 2000$ shipped to my location, but i was happy with what i paid and i got a great condition clip for it.....
Dont be negative about these people just bc of your own short-comings, thats just not right....

YES YOUR CORRECT. Dave has totally droped out.The thing is l was a novice , and stupid/ Was told it wasn't a crashed car/or from a junk yard. The mechanic who has opened the engine would bet his mother the engine is not 10,000 miler. This is what has unset me . B/C of that fact is why l acted fast. l dont trust puting the engine in my car until it is totally torn down. and replace the parts, gee this will be expensive but unless im totally satisfied i'll just go buy a new long block and be done with it and ebay this engine but hell i'll be truthful.
I'm glad to see you were lucky!!!!!!
l just wasn't. You can see that l didn't bag RPM. I just said to be careful in what you buy as it might not be what you get.

I was just surprised that Dave used RPM as a source. No wonder he just waits until the container is filled and only sells the engine with installs.

the only problem i have had with rpm garage is kieth is a stingy ****. he charges beyond premium prices then you have to ship the items from hong kong.

to elaborate on stingy dickness a friend of mine has made many (think 10+) purchases from him and he still does not budge a single cent... claiming how expensive and rare every single part is....

I've talked to Keith a few times, and know others that deal with him. You're definitely the first I've heard that think he's a "****." He's allowed to ask whatever he wants for his parts- some of them really are extremely hard to find. The market eventually dictates what the piece is worth though, you'll see his prices drop over time.

Have you ever bought anything from him. He has some stuff I like, I know the price is high; but I just want to know how reliable of a seller he is.
