I HATE PARTZNET!

Ok, so here's the skinny...

I need to put a new clutch in the 2, so I figured while I'm in there, might as well do timing, water pump, ac belt, alt. belt, etc. So as usual I go to partznet and order up the stuff. I needed it last weekend so I ordered 2 day shipping (18 bucks more). Well, I got it late tonight. Was over 5 days from when I ordered....pretty lame, they need to use FEDEX LIKE THEY SAY THEY DO! Not UPS!

Before this I had issues tracking my package cuz they gave me an e-mail receipt w/ my tracking number for fedex, didn't work. Turns out it was a UPS tracking number. Pretty lame, when yer purchasing the items they say fedex! SHIP FEDEX!

So I couldn't do my car this last weekend, whatever I am over it. Will do it next weekend. I open my box up tonight and what do I find? My timing belt....and some guys condensor assembly along with his receipt and whatnot. GAHHHHH! Not only did I wait over 2x the time to get the package and it's not even my stuff! WTF!?

Well they are obviously closed tonight, so tomorrow when I wake up they are getting an earful. We'll see if they make it right, I'll keep you guys posted. Maybe time to try Lithia Toyota huh?

Sounds like you should return it all, and make your way over to Lithia. (hmmm, i wonder why partznet is not a board sponsor anymore)

So I called them yesterday morning from my house, they said they'd ship out my new stuff next day air. I called later that day from work, and got transferred to another guy and was told I need the invoice number of the package I did receive, which of course was at home, so I was told to call and leave him a message later on that night (due to time differences). I did this and then called them this morning to 2x check. He said he had to get the part from their warehouse so he wouldn't be able to ship it till tomorrow morning. Said for sure he could get it to me by Friday, so we'll see I guess...

you know what need to happen is. some one needs to go down to LHM toyota and set up a forum account for discount prices. then you can get the same prices as these other guys and not have to deal with the hasel of a long distance relationship, not to mention you wont have to pay shiping. only down side is you will have to pay tax. any way it would be a good thing to look into.

There are two Toms @ Partznet....I found this out the hard way. One of them is a total ******* and just laughs and your requests. He would often tell me I could get certain parts @ a parts store for cheaper or just buy another car. Tom Realy (mispelled) is the guy you want to deal with. He is very nice and knows his stuff. He has faxed me pdf's and part #'s many times when I've been ordering parts. I've ordered almost every engine gasket, internal, and bolt through Tom on numerous jobs. Tom Realy will often give you free shipping if he messes up.

I talked with rich at LHM toyota he seemed to think it was a good idea. he also said ben (red right hand drive mr2) has a whosale account just for that purpose.
