Sometimes i misquote shipping costs to people and shipping ends up costing me $30 more than i originally got quoted from a shipping company. It happens all the time. I politely tell the buyer that he can either send me the extra money to ship it or i will give them thier money back. Ive never had any complaints so far. But in the case of you saying a part is $X amount shipped then you are taking the risk of the shipping be more than you expected and you getting screwed on it. Just tell them the part is $X amount and shipping is $x but that if it turns out to be too much more you will need them to cover the cost. simple.

as i've told you-
i WAS being nice about all this, -but-

you need to get a fricken' clue!
i don't give a damn about what you've shipped in the past. it wasn't a sidevent, and it wasn't from the same exact place to the same exact place. hell, if that were the case, why does it cost me so much more to go to Japan than it does for me to go to Italy? DEE DEE DEE cause it's not the same place!!! my arse weighs the same in either direction, maybe the airline will allow that kind of banter to decide my airfare from now on. i wish they would!!! WOW!!! you're way out of control! why don't you wash the sand from your va...nevermind...not worth it.
it's a sidevent. your in-laws are going to get their money back...find another one to buy. in fact, i saw another one for sale...in canada...maybe he'll sell and ship for $11.62 (plus optional insurance) or $13.82 (plus $1.60 for insurance). fat chance.

hands all up in my kool-aid...don't even know what flavor it is...

maybe you should come to terms with the fact that this was a PM-based discussion between me and blown59. he decided to take this public and i still maintained composure until he decided to kick things up a notch. and what for? to coerce me into selling/shipping after all of this? are you kidding me? so, unless you know every detail about this, maybe you should keep your comments to yourself or better yet, just see yourself out of this 'conversation'.

Look, I don't want to get into this with you. All I was saying was the bashing and the comments like this are immature.

Whether you are in the wrong or the right, comments like this just serve to make you look bad, even if you are in the right. The way you too digs at him with the airline comments, same thing. If you are in the right, and he's in the wrong, you still could be conducting the conversation in a more mature way, without the digs and undermining comments. Acting like that just makes you look bad. That's all I was saying.

I might expect a thread like this for a $1500 transaction, but a $15 one?

Seems like dejaveu all over again... Here I sit waiting to find out what is going on. NO, and I mean NO communication from the seller. No I sent it on... or its going out on.

And Ncturnal.... its not about the money, its about principle. Something so few ppl understand any more.

Lets have a look at the Sticky "Conducting transactions on MR2Board"

Sellers
  • Be honest in your dealings.
  • Ship products in a timely fashion. If you can't ship products in a timely fashion, don't accept any payments until you can.
  • Keep the buyer informed with the status of orders. This saves everyone hassles throughout the process.

Buyers
  • Sometimes mistakes happen, so make a honest attempt at resolution with the seller respectfully before jumping to conclusions. A seller will be much more inclined to resolve an issue if someone is not acting like a jerk.
I tried the above approach to no avail. It wasnt until this thread was started that I actually got a responce. (It had been about 10 or so days since I was told it had been shipped) And, at no time was I advised there was going to be a refund for the item purchased until this thread started.

I feel feedback needs to be left for ToyotaTechGeek, but what recource do I have to prevent negative feedback from him?

BTW.... When was this check supposedly returned???

FWIW, regardless of who's right or wrong, immature comments like the ones posted by the seller go a LONG way to discourage anyone dealing with him in the future.

All up in my kool-aid, wtf is that? Yeesh. Even if he's in the right completely, what an unprofessional and immature way of handling the issue. I wouldn't risk dealing with him after his responses. He could have just said his piece politely, and left it at that.

See? Now there's one less future customer this guy has to worry about!

Is it about $15??? Well, yes actually it is. I have yet to have the check returned from the seller. The same thing Im now dealing with on the return of my money, are the same actions that started the thread to begin with (only in regards to the product).

^^^This is how the shipping process went.

And again, its more than about just money. Its about principle. And to hopefully prevent this sort of situation from happening to anyone else.

If I was the seller in this case, and truly believed I was in the right, I'd still just send $15 to have the situation rest.

With most sites like this one, retalitory feedback is possible. If it happens, its best to take it up with the site administrators if you feel your feedback is wrong.
