Deadbeat Seller??

This is my last action in an attempt to get you to contact me. You Know Who You Are!

The item was supposed to have been shipped on 20th or 21st??? You were gonna supply a tracking # and havent..... has it even shipped yet?

Its a matter of time before I attach your Screen Name to this thread. Remember there is a Feedback area Others will read.

Just FYI, I ordered something on the 21st on ebay (shipped same day) and it will be here Friday. Got hung up somewhere plus the Thanksgiving holiday.

Thank you for that bit of information.

But, I have been dealing with this fella for over a month. He knew I needed the item rushed. I thought it would have originally shipped 2-3 wks ago. I was expecting delivered long before the 21st. He wont contact nor will he reply to PM's. Ive seen him post several times on here since leaving him PM's.

I know he visits the MK1 section... so this his last chance to right the situation.

If you're having issues with a seller, especially someone that you met through this forum, you really should put a thread in the feedback section. If he's failing to live up to his obligations it should be addressed.

Okay... heres the deal

ToyotaTechGeek was supposed to have shiped a sidevent for which I sent him a check, shipping included. He has been slow to communicate, slow to take action, slow to send pics, slow to ship.... All around a bad experience. When he did comunicate, he had an excuse for his actions. Flu, lost, didnt know... etc etc

This got his attention though....

Now he says he doesnt have enough money to ship the item, he's sending the check back.

Im still w/out the part.

again, slander me if you like. i won't take a beating for shipping this to you. i am not going to pay you to take something off my hands -and- ship it.
true, the package was misplaced in the warehouse where i work. we ship LOTS of government shipments everyday. my personal package was set aside. i wasn't there to answer for it since i wasn't at work due to illness. so, i go to find out what the hold-up was again, and i'm told by the warehouse manager that the money i gave him to ship the package(the amount that i was given WITHOUT cashing the check that was sent to me which wasn't so timely in arrival) was just a hair short. so, yes, i informed this potential buyer that the same check that was sent on his behalf would be sent back to him. i didn't ask for more money. i didn't cash the check. he claims it would cost him $3-4 to ship this item comparing it to some interior pieces, but the truth is that it will cost $14.85 to ship this item of the $15 he 'paid'. sorry. call me a bad seller, but i challenge anyone who is going to jump-in on this to sell something for less than an item is worth AND ship it to somewhere that FedEX and UPS consider to be extra shipping due to being VERY rural.

I'm pretty good at figuring out shipping stuff. If you can give me the origination and destination zip codes I'd be happy to see what I can find if you want.

okay, i'll look-up his zip later.

i'm certain there was no mistake as i said earlier that we do government shipping, so my guys are VERY accurate. but, in order to make a point, i'll divulge this info.

If you gave the buyer a quote for a price shipped, and he paid that amount, I don't see where the problem is.

there is NO deliberation of not providing refund nor product. the check [literally] is in the mail in its original sent condition. consider this a refund.

as most retailers also post this [paraphrased]: we reserve the right to sell or provide services anyone.

end of discussion on this one.

If money exchanged hands, a sale was made. If Best Buy mis-priced a TV by a couple hundred dollars from MSRP and sold it to you on the cheap, they don't try and refund your money to cover up their mistake. A misquoted price is a misquoted price, it's simple business ethics. Deal with and move on.

ToyotaTechGeek,

He is correct. We made a deal.... The deal was $15 shipped for the sidevent. Makes no difference whether you cashed the check or not. End of story.

a cheque, a third party one at that, is NOT considered legal tender...it is nothing more than an I.O.U. note. go ask your local bank.

again, none of this matters to me. the sale is dead.

Sale is NOT dead

Sale is dead?? Your starting to show your true colors. Makes no matter if the check was third party or not. Can my in-laws not purchase me a gift? Im beginning to see why you were banned from the other board.

Just so long as everyone else knows how you conduct business, Im happy. Maybe they wont get the same run-around I did.

Maybe I should post all of the PMs Ive sent you and the responses which I received??? NOWHERE did it ever say the shipping cost more than what I sent. NOWHERE did you ever tell me you were refunding my check. I have waited a weeks time or more to even get a response from you. Item has shipped, Ill send you a tracking #... sounds like a sale took place to me.

Seriously, I paid for a part that I need and I respectfully request you send this part. Not only is it that I need it, but principle. Dont go conducting a business transaction if you cant or dont intend on following through.

Companies have to eat margins all the time. When they quote a customer and the variable costs in resources used to manufacture a specifc item goes up, they eat the difference.

I think when conducting business in a community, if someone is mis-quoted, a polite "sorry but I just can't sell it to you for that" goes a long way. Usually people understand, giving someone the run-around just isn't the way to go.

just so that you quick-to-judge weenies know:

i researched this today...seems that none of the parcel carriers will ship this package (weighing 5.5lbs) in a cost-efficient way due to the extra fuel surcharge added to the shipping costs due to the buyer's location (e.g.; he lives in the boonies). this is according to a co-worker who i just found-out owns a shipping subsidizing business and further verified by a friend of mine who is a UPS shipping supervisor.

If you attach the metal ring to the back of the vent, the salvage yard may consider it one piece
