Noshoes/Jeff Herstine Awesome Team!!!!

Noshoes/Jeff Herstine Awesome Team!!!!

I would like to take some time out to talk about my experience with dealing with both of these gentlemen. You may know these 2 people from being Hydes main tuner and Hydes Chief Mechanic. I really don't know where to start so here it goes.

I dropped my car of to Jeff Herstine for a turbo install, cams, hfh and hfoe, cam seals, and some other tiny stuff to prepare my tuning experience for the shoeless one and make sure everything was up to par before Bryan recieved it.

This is around the 3rd time i have taken my car to Jeff Herstine. I can't say enough about this man's work and the pride he takes in working on our cars. He is LITERALLY one of the BEST people of done a transaction with. In general he is just an EXTREMELY nice guy. The work he does may take some time cause he is VERY family orientated but i myself can 100% respect that, since working on our cars is a side job, but he does try to meet a deadline that is set by you. His prices are tremendously affordable and is DEFINATLY top notch work. He will always call you before ordering any parts and ask if it's ok with you. There is NO surprises on his part. I gave him a certain amount of money for all the work above and i actually recieved $100 back. I can't say enough about this guy and his work. I will stay bringing my car 100 miles to have my work done by him.

After Herstine finished my car and gave me the ok that it's ready for Bryan to pick it up. Me and Bryan worked something out to where he would pick up my car and drive it back to me since time was not an issue for me to get it down there. He would also be installing my 800cc inj, full msd setup, ebc, tuning and other misc bs. All was included in the talked about price, hence some few dollars more on parts that needed be later on.

Let me take this back a little further, BEFORE i even spoke to Bryan about going standalone i was havning problems with my car around 1-2 yrs ago. Bryan reached out to ME and helped and gave me ideas with my car, without even mentioning a standalone in our conversation, this really got me thinking that he has a passion for our cars and is willing to help a nobody such as myself. Keep in mind me and Bryan never spoke or made any sort of business transaction. So several months later after doing fb checks on Bryan and his work i knew this had to be the guy to tune my car. I then gave Byan a call spoke to him and informed him that one day EVENTUALLY i will be going standalone, when funds where there, and he would be the man to tune my car.

( Current )
Bryan kept me informed EVERY step of the way and kept me posted on when he would be picking up my car, keep in mind at one piont he was in oregon, when herstine was ready to release it to him. I would average a call from bryan atleast once a week to keep me updated on his situations and what not. After picking up my car more work begins. Let me say through this whole ordeal with him driving my car to virginia and from virginia to jersey, i did NOT have one doubt or worry in my mind about my car. I KNEW THE CAR WAS IN POSSIBLY THE BEST HANDS IT COULD BE IN. I knew that if something bad ihappend ( car breaking down on the trip ) it would be worked out and Bryan would somehow work it out. People would try to convince me to take it to other tuners that are local that didn't have to much knowledge with mr2's. People would try to get be to go to civic and dsm tuners that i didn't feel comfortable with, 1. because chances are good they've never tuned an mr2. Yes tuning is tuning i guess but i'd rather someone that knows our car incase something happens, 2. because there is NO fb on any of those other tuners that where recommended to me and 3. because i just knew he knows what he's doing rather then guessing. Through the course of things Bryan would keep me posted and shoot for certain finish dates that couldn't possibly be met due to various things like, dyno's being booked cause of import shootouts around his area, certain parts had to be ordered from toyota around holliday time to work with my new setup, and the main reason would be me with working 7 days a weak 12hr shifts that time wouldn't allow me to be around to recieve my car. He sent me photos of my car with progression pics, and i can't forget how clean the install was. It wasn't just slopped together and said here your car is done.
I must say that the car drives SOOOO much better and more smoother with his tune instead of a stock ecu. Off boost it actually feels like a true NA car should feel. Bryan used a DynoJet around his area that allows him to tune with load so driving off boost feels just about ( if not ) perfect. There is more room for me to grow in power but the tune i recieved is not agrassive at all. Bryan shoots for power, but most of all he shoots for SAFE power wich i can understand. I must say that i am not one bit disappionted in how either transaction went. If anything i was disappionted at myself in not realizing how much the stock gen 2 mani was going to hold me back. If i would have known that i would of took care of that before the tune. You may have to wait a bit for Bryan's tuning cause he is soooo booked and there is a reason for that, BASICALLY cause he's the ____ at what he does and he backs it up with his service. In the future i will be buying a fully built longblock and different intake mini, you can guess who will be doing my tuning.

All in all to sum things up, i guess you can say it's money well spent if this is what you love to do ( drive fast ).

Too the both of you ( Noshoes and Herstine ) thank you for helping me break my 300whp mark. ( 337whp 288tq @18psi on pump )

While i'm at it i want to thank the rest of my friends that helped me also, you guys know who you are.

I also forgot to add that Bryan has been keeping tabs on my car and it's driving conditions to make sure everything is ok. THAT"S GREAT SERVICE RIGHT THERE.

Congrats. Bryan is definitely a good man to do business with. I'm glad everything went so well.
