+1 any one can have a bad exp. it is how it is handled by both sides that speaks volumes.

Ok so here it goes. I was parting out my 2nd gen and i had an lsd trans up for sale as well since i was going to 3rd gen. Originally i was going to the trans until i heard the 3rd gen had different gearing. So he wrote me regarding a trade for parts he had. I was interested in the turbo and he in the trans. So we made a deal to meet to see the items and possibly make the trade. When he showed up I let a guy who knew a lot more then me about turbos look at it and he said it seemed to be good. So I showed "his mechanic" as he stated the trans which was still attached to the long block. explained why I was getting rid of it and explained how this trans was working fine up until i stopped driving the car. A week or so later he called me up saying he couldn't get the trans to go in gear once the car was on and would grind if you tried to put it into reverse. But he did state that it went into gear fine with the car off and if he started the car with it already in gear it would be fine but he couldn't switch out and into another gear. So I believed as well as many of my other friends and employers that it was either the clutch, slave, master, or linkage not fully allowing the clutch to disengage with the car on. But he just wanted the turbo back and me get the trans back. But how do i know he isn't trying to give me his trans that was originally in his car.

also before i put your tranny in i replaced clutch, slave, master, shiftcables, and bushings. Everything was working on my old tranny. The only issue i had was grind on 3rd and 4th. For some reason your tranny wouldnt take gear. But i brought another tranny from another member and it works perfect. So you be judge. Also i called you when i had the tranny in the car if you wanted to come down with your mechanic to look at it and you said yes. Guess what you never came down.

The owner and admin of this board take the marketplace dealings VERY seriously. It's common practice to lock a sellers account down to just the feedback section when there's a problem like this until the issue is resolved. If you deal with it in a professional manner then your account will be opened up again.

the best i can try to do 2 resolve this is split the money on a sale of this turbo and return of the transmission i gave him so i can take it apart and find out the true cause to the supposed malfunction..then try to sell it after "problem" is resolved...not that board would care seeing as they've basically shut down my account only allowing me to post on this thread...i mean i don't want to make enemies even though I for some reason have not felt very open arms since i joined the board... i mean I'm only 19 and trying to make my first mr2 ownership a pleasant one...

I think the fairest way to resolve this is for us to trade the parts back but since you don't want to I'd be open to give you back your tranny and you do whatever you want with it and you paying me atleast half for the turbo which I paid $800. and for a bonus you can have my old tranny. I just want this problem to be resolved and atleast get something out of this since I already lost out $1000. Here is my number so we can meet up somewhere 516 322 6100

THey always lock the accounts in these situations, so dont feel singled out. You need to realize that youve probably made a mistake in selling the tranny to the guy, and fix the problem like an adult. Youre 19, so you should be able to handle this situation a little better than you are.

Just trade the parts back, its not that hard. It seems like you want his turbo and aren't willing to give it up in order to save your reputation, and its not for the sake of saving your reputation anyways, its for the sake of being fair and making his life a little easier.

The board does care. That's why you're restricted to only the Feedback section. Everyone wants to to do the right thing, which is give the guy his turbo back in exchange for the transmission you gave him. He's not even trying to get you to eat the cost of labor for the install on it.

It really is that black and white.

If you're seriously trying to get into the world of auto tech, you're going to have a hard time surviving with the mentality you've brought to the table so far. There aren't any feedback forums in the real world.. just courts and regulatory agencies who aren't anywhere near as forgiving as an Internet message board.

What a pity, One person is trying to make things work and the other refuses to accept?? make sense?? Ive sold many parts online and the only way to get things done is by being honest and upfront thats the only way to do buisness because in the end "Rascal" you are only hurting yourself and ive been around your kind the world is smaller then what most people think. just work it out kid.
