91 MR2 on mr2trader:beware!!

Guy's beware!! this guy sold me a swap that burned to the ground this weekend. Told me he would help me work it out...have not heard from him since. DrWonderEyes in Port St Lucie who did the swap told me he has many mr2's under his belt and did not know why the car burned. they drove it around for a month and it was fine. it burned under my watch and is my problem "car sold as-is". sounds like a used car salesman!! asked if they ever took it on a strong drive more than 50 miles and did not get a response. guess driving to the grocery store makes it a quality swap..Owned the car about a month...here's the old ad for my quality car that burned:
MR2 Owners Club Message Board&#8482
here's the one on mr2trader:
MK 2 MR2 - Turbo : 1991 black turbo MD.
I got screwed out of $6k..would not like to see anyone else in my place. again Buyers Beware!!

Sounds like another ground wire problem. Most likely whoever installed the motor didn't put all the stock ground wires back. That's the easiest way to fry an MR2.

Nope...When I insured it Progressive gave it a market value of $1500 and wanted $800 a yr for full coverage whereas pip/liab costs around $400. Right now though I wished I had the full coverage..something is better than nothing. If there is a next time..I will definately get it for the first 6 months just incase...I really like the cars...with this my wife would probably leave me if I get another one..

Seems everyone else knows what might of happened. Here's what the f**king mechanic told me: DrWonderEyes in Port St Lucie who did the swap told me he has many mr2's under his belt and did not know why the car burned. they drove it around for a month and it was fine. it burned under my watch and is my problem "car sold as-is". sounds like a used car salesman!! asked if they ever took it on a strong drive more than 50 miles and did not get a response. guess driving to the grocery store makes it a quality swap..

im sorry man. you should always have full coverage specially when it comes to "sport cars". you have to protect your investment because if you are in a wreck the majority of the time insurance company will just total vehicle because it might cost too much to fix it. although its more $$$$$ its well worth it.

Should of figured that out when the insurance guy told me its not worth the full coverage cause they will only give kbb value. They never incourage something unless it's to their benefit... something is better than nothing right now...Thanks Guys! At least there's some honorable people here...some people have been telling me it's my problem..basically deal with it..that sucks! This was my first MR2...always wanted one!

If my insurance agent were to tell me that they would only give me KBB for an MR2 I'd drop 'em like a hot rock. KBB don't know **** about values for import cars and they're totally off base on the value of the MR2.
