My experience with Josh Boam DBA GarageCRW or Chico race Works

December 19th emailed Josh an offer for H&R front springs and TRD rears.

December 20th: Josh promptly replied and accepted the offer.

January 8: I emailed Josh asking the status.

Jan 9th: Josh replied with an excuse about xmas, said he'd get them out Monday the 12th.

Friday 16th, Springs arrived and sat by the front door.

Sat 17th: I emailed Josh saying the TRD springs were missing.

Sat 17th: Josh replies, saying they were in a different warehouse

Sat 17th: I replied to confirm.

Fri 23rd: I took my front springs off and then started to install the H&R. Once the car was torn down, I realized that the springs had been cut.
I put the car back together and emailed Josh that they had been cut and either wanted a refund or another set.

Friday 23rd: Josh replies back, says he has another set he can ship or no problem on the refund.

Friday 23rd: I reply that I'd rather the springs than the refund.

Feb 2nd: I asked about the ETA of these springs.

Feb 2nd: I open a paypal claim knowing I don't have much longer to protect myself in the event Josh never finds the springs.

Radio silence...

Feb 9th: I figure Josh was finished with the transaction since he ignored me this past week. I shipped the springs back with a tracking number.

Feb 9th: Josh refunds me AND insults me in the refund note.

Feb 9th: I reply to the refund note, stating my intentions to post this info.

Feb 9th: Josh replies telling me to send them back and he'll repay shipping.

Feb 9th: while I'm typing this out, I email josh with the Fedex tracking number and my intent to do the below.

From me Feb 9th:
Fedex tracking number for the springs shipped this morning: 177654110007735

If any more arrive this next week, they will be placed in the trash can. I will not lift a finger to help get them back to you. You can call Fedex and recall them yourself.

From Josh on Feb 9th:
oh... you're a real piece of work arn't you. buy in to enginelogics or something? could understand if there was no contact between us for anything... you say you got cut front springs which i take your word at then after i say i'm sending off another set i check paypal and you have started a dispute over this? don't even bother to email me over it? pretty low brow IMO but it only cements the fact that you got what you paid for minus the TRD rear springs yet claim the H&R front were cut when i can pretty much guarantee it's just a set you had chillin waiting for a sucker like me to take your word on it.

Moral of the story:

I was looking for a very specific set of spring rates with mixed brands. Josh had the combo I needed and was willing to risk his historical slow shipping antics
for these springs. Nearly two months later, I'm out over $20.00 for shipping and an hour of my time on something he made a mistake on.

Now, I'm okay with mistakes, I've made fair share of them. I also own a small business that's customer service oriented and try to be tolerant of those who are running one man shows. I know, as much as anyone that it's a very tough gig to do. I don't expect perfection, however I do expect decent communication.

Josh, since you thought it wise to insult me for your mistake and slow shipping. I am making sure a caveat emptor is available for to search to those looking to do business with Josh Boam DBA GarageCRW.

If there is any truth in the note you sent that those front springs were shipped today, you had better recall them as I will deliver them directly to the land fill without opening the box if they arrive here. I will not lift a finger to ship them back; nor will I use something I did not pay for.

Fedex tracking number for springs shipped to Josh on the 9th: 177654110007735

Josh: show me a tracking number dated Jan 23 to Feb 9th where you shipped me the replacement front springs.

Dude i had the same exact thing! i asked him about a Turbo radiator and fans, and he's like $250 shipped, sent him the money on 1/14..... he said he'd get it shipped out asap, well weeks later, and still no radiator. talked to him last sunday on AIM, and he said he'd ship it out last Monday..... well tomorrows tuesday, and still no package or word from him.

I knew it'd take 6-8 weeks to get what I wanted from him. Maybe a bit longer. The time wasn't my issue. What I was pissed about is that he accused me of scamming him. Which was his mistake, as he did not read the paypal complaint OR the emails I had sent him. Once he did, he made a very sincere apology and we found a reasonable solution.

Thats the same stuff I was going threw when I got stuff from him. Its really scary are first thinking you've been robbed. You just gotta trust that he's gonna go threw with what he said he would. Everything I've got from him is still in use on my car with zero problems at all. Even though it took about 2 months to get. Lol I have to admite I'd still oreder from him again though.
