WOW....

After thoroughly reading this I noiticed my name mentioned negatively just about every few sentences.

First off, I was not working on his car at the time of the exhaust manifold disassembly. Nor did I break the exhaust manifold bolt. It was broken before the car ever got here. I specifically remember him saying that the shop before us broke it.

Second, On the fuel system, all I did was reconnect the so called "insufficient" lines that he provided us. I did not add additional lines or modify it in any way.

Third, I custom made a slot for his boost controller in his ashtray. Everything was fine. Soon there after I had to leave the shop for personal reasons. When i came back the next day the ashtray was broke. I was unaware of what went on while I was gone. The ashtray was already in bad shape and I went as far enough to give him my perfectly good ashtray just so he would be happy.

Maybe as a Marine you should stick to taking orders instead of giving orders, because all I did was what you told me to do.

I am not taking trying to get in on the middle of this, but it is my personal view that if in fact the fuel lines had been replaced with vacuum lines (either by the previous shop or whatever), that they should have been replaced with actual safe fuel lines prior to the car being cleared to leave regardless. If I were in charge of a shop I would not permit a unsafe car to leave, even if it came in unsafe, just for the fact that you are liable after it was in your hands.

I very much agree.

I must say this, If I had a shop, I would not let someone work on a car, BECAUSE if harry touched it or NOT the representation of the work will still be on Harry or the MR2GURU shop. end of story period. When one of my employees mess up, I get blamed, I represent my employees and should make sure they dont mess up. Im just saying this so you can cover yourself, I dont care about the specific details.

Ok well I quickly see this becoming a your word against my word thing, and Im not looking to get into a pissing contest with anyone. I was laying on top of the roof of the car pulling the turbo out after you broke the nut off... you even made a comment about how easy I made it look to take out because I was laying on top of the car.

If you want to make this a personal thing, lets take this off the board. Quotes like this tend to get people slapped.

Do you even know what it means to serve? Ive put my own life in danger in differnt parts of the world just so you can have the constitutional right to say stupid things like this as freely as you wish. My career choice should have nothign to do with you ******* up my car.... or anyone elses. Im just glad Harry is there to look over your mistakes. Too bad he didnt look over your mistakes on my car.... could have saved a lot of problems.

Ive said my piece and Im done with this thread.

The bottom line is that Bryan has pictures of everythign that was messed up and Im still waiting on him to post them... It only makes sence in so many ways.... and the pictures tell that story. Obviously he wouldnt have taken the pictures had the work been done up to standards.... but anyway.

Here come the pictures:

Here's the fuel pressure regulator install. Please note that the FPR was not secured to the firewall, or even zip tied in place. Please note how the steel braided line has a brass barbed fitting screwed into it, and then a regular line goes to another barbed fitting. (This is the line that replaced the vacuum line).

Now we have a fuel pressure regulator flopping around in the engine bay, where the line can be easily pinched. When a line is pinched, your fuel pressure will go up, due to the restriction of the now smaller line.

Here's the JB welded intake temperature sensor in the intake manifold. Take note of the steel braided lines on the intake manifold. These would have worn some nice holes in the valve cover pretty quickly. Also, not pictured is how the lines were ran. They were run on top of the coolant line that runs from the filler neck to the head, without any brackets securing the line. Coolant leak anyone?:

Here's how the Nemesis wiring was run, installed by someone else. It's still hack work:

Here's a pretty funny one. This was causing undue stress on the downpipe, and it was moved so far over that the flex pipe was rubbing on the oil pan.

Take a look at these instructions for the KO Racing TKO exhaust:

http://www.koracing.net/technical/TKOinstall.html

Quote:
Step 5:
Remove the 2 12mm bolts that hold the triangular rubber dampener (looks like a wedge of cheese) onto the rear cross member.
It looks like someone had some trouble reading instructions, or didn't think he needed them.

Here's what kicked my butt. I couldn't remove the stud after 5 hours, so I ended up having to swap out the head.

Here's the head off. Did I mention this car was leaking oil out of the turbo return line? Someone forgot to replace the clamps that hold the oil return tube to the oil pan.

Those metal shavings won't hurt anything! Note the divots (dents) on the quench area on the intake side:

Ok i saw this car when it came back from asheville, hell i raced it in my civic and killed it, this shouldnt have happened, and i couldnt have ever seen an uglier install. yeah it had a tiny exhaust leak before mike left here, and when it came back, ten times worse. a car with those components in it should have KILLED me and my 180whp civic. Cables floppin around, Car sputtering and shooting flames at 4500 rpms.....WTF? after i raced him and stomped a hole in it, he raced my boy matt, with a 121whp integra ls. Winner, teggy. Does anyone else see the problem here? I rode in the car today, HOLY SHIT!!!, we rolled with a GTO till he quit at almost 100mph. Rolled ALL OVER a 3000gt Vr4.....big difference. I say go VA Beach.......

Asheville - 0
Va. Beach - 1

Note the finished product install. We used spare parts I had at the shop (hence the hideous gold color), but the overall engine bay is much cleaner, less cluttered, and SAFE.

One thing that sucks about the internet world is when people sign up on boards just to take sides...

Unless your affiliated with the shop or have had direct operation with what happened here it would be awesome if you could just watch what goes on vs trying to stir pots.

But thats just my opinion.
