mk1 sc, worth upgrading to W2A ?

I have an '86 mk1 sc with the 12psi pulley.
Is it worthwhile ditching the stock A2A IC and putting in a W2A ?
anyone done this and has advice ?
just wonderin if theres any noticeable improvement

cheers

yeah, i know its gonna make the intake charge cooler than the stock IC, but how much of a difference is it really ?

i guess most people to this upgrade along with other things so cant really single out the benefit to this particular change.

are we talking a couple hp gain, or 10 or more ?

hard to tell. i know it can be significant. you're running the 12 psi pulley...plenty of heat generated there!

not worth the money? the set-up doesn't cost THAT much!
i personally am using a dual-pass bar and plate air-to-air IC that does just fine!

it's not a matter of putting on a w2a i/c and getting more power straight up! much lower charge air temps will result in a little more hp by itself sure, but being able to tune the engine more with those cooler temps is where the added 'more hp' bonus comes in. plus to mention the cooler the charge air temps, the better the fuel economy too.
and remember the larger the heat exchange up front, the more effient the system will be.

in a engine layout like a aw11, w2a i/c should of been stock!!!
