Supercharged 20v?

Im thinking of throwing a 4age silvertop in my mk1, although I want a bit more power. So I was wondering what it would take to supercharge the silvertop?

Would the 4agze supercharger bolt right up? If so what intake manifold would work best?

your best bet would be a ZE bottom end with a 20V head. it would not be a zero interfirance any more but from what i know it is the easist way to do it

Read this thread on the other board. I was thinking the same as you, but decided it's too much work. I'm going turbo now...

Short story -
The Silvertop bottom end is the same as the ZE with different pistons.
The ST block doesn't have the holes to mount the supercharger brackets.
A small turbo (GT25 or GT28) will get you more power than a SC, with less headaches and negligible lag.
A supercharger may or may not be cheaper than a turbo - depends on the super and the turbo.
No matter what it's a lot of work.

I would have to concur with the previous posts.

A silvertop engine with lower compression pistons and a smaller turbine will be far less complicated, not to mention put down more power for the same amount of $. A piece of advice though, do not half a__ it as it will cost you far more than what you initially planned as a budget. Do it right from the get go, with the right parts and proper ignition/fuel management system instead of relying on stock electronics that were not meant for either turbo or supercharger on the silvertop 20v motor.

I don't know a heck of a lot about 20v's, but if you take off the intake and swap it for the SC intake you will then have the mounts for the supercharger, right? Or were you planning on running the supercharger into the 20v throttle body?
