turbo question..?

i need help turboing my 1988 mr2... i know how and wat to do but i need help with parts... can i throw a newer turbokit on it? reccomendations???

There are no kits available for the MK1, HKS used to sell one but those are very hard to find and are no longer available new. There is one place (Speed Source)that built manifolds and down pipes in the past but you have to basically build the rest of it yourself. JGS Tools sells kits or complete log style manifolds for the 4A-GE which fit the MK1.

Papo's right Most of what is involved in turboing our mk1's is making or sourcing the parts needed to get the engine to run. Best thing to start with is a 4agze engine or short block. That would give you alot stronger base on which to build on. Than select what type of turbo you want to use. Than source or make a exhaust to mount your turbo on. Will need some form of intercooling, piping, another form of engine control, bigger injectors, cams if you want to try anything other than stock but stock cams seem to work fine, turbo oiling and draining, blow off and boost control valves. And other stuff.

How much Torque/power are you going to try for?
