swapping a 4agze's supercharger on a n/a 4age?feasible...?

So this is possible,by just using all the parts off of a 4agze?

no it will not blow the motor, but you'll need EVERYTHING from the 4agze engine. ECU, AFM, wiring loom, injectors, inlet manifold and associated pipe work, distributor, fuel rail, fuel lines from the fuel filter to fuel rail, s/c mount, s/c alt mount... etc. etc... you get the picture.

or otherwise custom mount the s/c ~3" lower under the na inlet manifold (move the alt so need gze alt mount etc.) make up your pipe work, relocate TB between AFM and s/c inlet, get a aftermarket engine management, good i/c and get it tuned. <<< this is how i would do it if going through it all again.

Injectors, starter, tranny mounting plate, SC ac compressor..feral paints a grim picture huh? but it's real, it ain't easy and it ain't fun... if your a tech wizard have a go..if not your in for a world of frustration and oh so limited parts (like $250 for a distributor?)

Better have real deep pockets my friend.. think twice

I've sorta done this. I used the 4agze and used the crank and pistons/rods out of a bluetop MR2 in the 4agze since the rod and crank had been eaten. I didn't really expect it to last but I had the bits and just threw it together. Its been 3 years of hard abuse now and still hasn't blown up. But that isn't putting everything onto a buetop just using bluetop internals. Got to say I am surprised since the rods have had no treatment at all.

If it goes much longer I'll do another one with shot peened rods and make it a permanent fixture.

You did what?

Go slow now, I wanna understand this ?

You put 4a-ge crank (Bluetop?), rods and pistons (91/2:1Compression ratio) into a 4a-gze block, and, it was still supercharged as well?
Or normally aspired?
Were the crank bearings new? No piston to valve clearance problems? oh yeah..tell me more..

The reason I ask is I've got a spare 4a-gze block out back without a crank and am lookin' for some options for a hopped up engine on a parts budget?

Could be a winner here!

Sorry I didn't spot your post earlier. Yeah I just threw the internals in with a new set of bearings and rings and let er rip. I was meant to be just to get me back on the road but the engine went so strong that I just left it as is. The mains on the bluetop are the same as a 4agze but the journals are different but since I was using bluetop rods and such it didn't matter so it was just bolt in go. It means that I can't raise boost or develop the engine but the extra compression gives a little extra kick and it is a road car so it is good enough. Thrashed it at some track days and it revved all day. No valve clearance problems cause they are essentially the same head so was an easy fix. I honestly though it was going to be a one week wonder but has been beaten for 2 years and still good (I am not a calm forgiving driver hehe)

I've got his "bluetop" out back and a 4agze without a crank.

Sounds like from what your saying I can cram those 9.5:1 pistons, rods and crank from the bluetop in 'thar and she'll run?

I still have the standard Supercharger pulley in this combo so the engine isn't going to be overblown to smithereens. I'm a little nervous about the 9.5 pistons but the car will be street driven so it might last as long as yours with a little luck.

Yep it all works just use good gas and make sure the timing is not over advanced, mine I run a little more retarded the other engines I have with standard pistons. I have never heard it ping or knock so can't be too overstressed. Since they use the same head the valve clearances and everything are perfect so no messing about with flycuts just plug and play
