MAP in place of MAF

I was reading on the fourms one day and I read something about using a MAP sensor instead of a MAF sensor. It was said that it is better to use the MAP sensor if you are going to run higer levels of boost? Is there a Toyota compatible part that the stock ecu can read? I am assuming that it might come from a newer model Toyota. It seems to me that if possible would be better than the MAF anyway.

So... perhaps you would need to use an aftermarket ecu? I know that if you run a megasquirt setup, you can use a GM Map sensor. (Anybody here running a megasquirt setup?)
I suppose a Map sensor would be a better replacement anyway if avalible.

The stock AFM has been proven to be fine and effective at over 200 WHP. Most MAP sensors read frequency variations and not voltage like most AFMs do so to use one you'll need a pigiback or a stand alone ECU. How much boost are you planing to run?

Oh, that makes sense that they would put out different signals. Wow 200 whp isnt too shabby, the SC puts out 8 psi stock and makes 145 so to make 200 you would probably need about 13-14 pounds I assume(perhaps less due to the added efficency at high speeds of a turbo?)
