E3
So who has been watching the E3 coverage? I am pretty well impressed and thought it would be good to start up a best and worst of E3 thread. Games I am looking forward to include:
Assassin's Creed 2 (loved the first, second looks even better. You can now go in the water instead of dying if you touch it, which was a pain in the ass in the first game) Bioshock 2 (first one was amazing, now you get to be the first Big Daddy, all out awesome) Forza 3 (so pretty, game looks great) Left 4 Dead 2 (first one was great, you get awesome melee weapons including a chainsaw, oh it's on) Modern Warfare 2 (bout damn time, I am sick of WWII FPS games. This one looks great, weapons look great, the radar on the gun was awesome) Splinter Cell Conviction (I love the Splinter Cell series, this one has Fisher as a renegade, I want to replay all my old ones now) Halo: ODST (It's HALO, a staple of the 360, looks good, you're multiple different troopers in this one) Halo: Reach (didn't get to see more than a very enigmatic video, but it is based before the invasion, looks to be good) Alan Wake (I was intrigued, I love my horror games, this one looks quite entertaining, light hurts the creatures, stuff is coming to life and attacking you) So what did you guys think of the Natal stuff? I am a little on the fence about Natal. It looked quite interesting with the facial and voice recognition. Being able to navigate menus by waving your arms and such looked good. The games looked too much like a Wii, but these were just there to show off that Natal actually works. The AI kid and the recognition and then it scanning the picture and him getting it in the environment was pretty cool. Anyone else want to chime in on what they have seen so far. |

Damn, I was just checking out some of the highlights. There look to be a LOT of games coming out this year that I want!
Forza 3 looks badass. Modern Warfare 2, definitely going to pick that one up. Assassin's Creed 2 looks very stylistically cool. I liked the first one. Alan Wake looks neat and I like the setting. Mass Effect 2: Well I still need to find time to play the first one, but this should be cool. R.U.S.E. looks intriguing. Has promise. |

I was at E3 today. I actually caught some air time during the G4 taping. The two games that stuck in my head after playing was MW2 and if youve got a ps3, God of War 3. Definitely must buys.
Activision had a huge booth and great demo of DJ Hero, looks fun. Hopefully they make a drum and turntable combo instead of a guitar. SC:Conviction, forza3, and Darksiders look promising as well.. i thought this was going to be a boring year. E3 definitely proved otherwise. -Paul |
