Water Pump Question

Is a gen 2 water pump fine to replace a gen 3 water pump? I just got my swap and need a few minor parts like a water pump and didnt know if I could easily replace it with the gen 2 or another quality aftermarket product. thanks for the help.

It's fine but you'll have to swap the front side housing for it to work so don't throw the Gen 3 one away.
