Mk1 smoke
Hi, im new here and just bought an mk1 1986 N/a. the first thing i did was oil change and changed the water to coolant... when i turn the car on its perfect, no smoke... but when i accelerate (while moving) theres alot of smoke coming from the exaust... i checked if coolant is passing to the oil but theres nothing, is it a big problem to fix or is it just like rings or normal tuneup stuff? Well appreciate the help.

Don't you hate it when they say the the "car is smoking" yet never provide the color of the smoke?
#1 Question: (guess) What color? #2 is there any loss of power? #3 Is there any knocking sound? #4 is there a strong gas smell? ___________________________________ White (head gasket / just get a "new / used" 4AG Blue (burning oil / again "get a new / used" 4AG Black (rich mixture /trial & error / might need to chage O2 sensor / FPR / AFM / Timing belt / etc |

Uuhh, that sweet smell my friend is antifreeze buring up on the exhaust. I say you have a BHG. Have you check the level reservoir?

yeah it might be, i read that if i drive it for a bit and open the oil cap and see if theres antifreeze in there thats a BHG (dont know what that is) lol so i drove it then opened and theres nothing just oil... :S something weird cause i just drove the car to my friends house (far way) and the smoke doesnt come out when its hot... and its consuming lots of fuel... well not that much but i put full tank and now its 4 days using it normal and its on half tank... well hope something works.
