Little Red switch

I have a 1984 aw11 its manual and im having trouble working out what the little switch is down by the hand brake under the radio. it doesn't seem to do anything in either position! Any help would be great

Post a picture? Been a while since I owned an MK1 but I don't remember any little red switch, sounds like something somebody else wired in?

have you checked to see if there are any wires running from it? If so do they look aftermarket?
