Does anyone know what the ridge on the floor is for? (on floor at back of seats, under center of seat). There seems to be a metal bar in the ridge, to what purpose?

Probably to make the unibody more rigid? Plus, the seat bolts in to it (front) so it's got to be pretty solid.
