Power Window Problem

so i got my mk1 about 3 months ago and it has been a dream. until about 3 weeks ago the window stopped rolling all the way down or all the way up. now the window stops about 1 centimeter from the top (just enough to let rain in, lame!) and the furthest down it goes is 10cm. if you hit the auto roll down it runs smoothly and then just stops as if the window has rolled all the way down. so my question is what do i need to do about this? is it the regulator?

Thanks,
MD

Check out either the Twosrus.com or Kbox.com websites for a possible fix for our "wonderful" MK1 power windows. Your problem may be power window gear (OEM is nylon). Both have a Delrin replacement gear that can help with at least that problem for about $20 plus shipping.
