out of curiosity....

are all parts interchangable on the mk1s from 84 all the way through 89?

like, i have a 88, if i were to pull parts off an 85 would everything match?

sry, probably a dumb question, but i havent seen anything on other posts about it and im new to the mr2 scene.

A good question actually.

Disclaimer: I THINK this is generally true, but I'd confirm any part before purchasing. Some parts won't really fit this generalization.

There are three major (US market) MK1 varieties: 85-86, 88-89, and 88-89 Supercharged.

Many of the stronger suspension parts (and I think the transmission) from the 88-89 SC models were included in with the 88-89 NA.

The 87 is a bit of a bastard. It shares engines with the 88-89 NA, but most other components are shared with the 85-86. The 4AGE engine had blue and black lettering on valve covers 85-86, and red and black lettering (and a few additional horsepower) 87-89.

Though many parts may not be the identical from various model years, the may still be interchangeable.
