You can blow an engine drivin off the lot, with the right kind of abuse any major mechanical malfunction is possible.

Heck there are people that hardly have any idea how to drive a 5-speed and are to arrogant to learn from someone else. In a short time this could ruin an engine by over revving and constant launch or stalling.

Keep it in first gear and just keep red lining it and it will definetly blow the hell up
(I guess you can only blow manual cars up since the computer shifts for you in automatic cars) |

Nah, you can blow up an automatic too. Go up a really steep hill and just slam the gas to the floor.

1) Take the rods out
2) Cut them in half 3) Weld them back together 1/4 inch longer 4) Put back together and enjoy your new high compresion engine For the record I know someone who did this. It didn't work ROFL |

I would blow up my engine on purpose if I was going to do a swap and I already had a rear clip
I think it would be fun, doing donuts in 1st gear until the engine explodes |

Yeah, that would be great to have the mind set driving a car knowing you don't need the engine and you can do whatever you want. I might have to do that when I get a rear clip. I'm just gonna make sure I have something close by to tow it to the garage. I hate pushing!

^ So you are the reason I can't find used engines that have not run a bearing. Seriously unless the engine was absolutley worthless to anybody (like my old toyota coronas 2L carby lawnmower engine) don't do that. Destroys more than the engine as well and the mess it makes is terrible. Sounds fun but not really when reality hits, oil everywhere and the fact that they catch on fire is not fun lol.

Forgot to mention that I blew an engine that and all of what I mentioned above happened ie fire, oil and the worst mess was the dry powder from the fire extinguisher, its sticky and does not wash off.

lol, I have 2 engines for my car. I had 3 but one blew a rod and shot the block to smithereens. It had well over 200,000 on it. It's not hard to find 5sfe parts. And if I were to sell it I'd get like $250-$350 for the engine. But I've never blew one up on purpose, yet! I'd rather pick up a free junker and drive it off a cliff, with me jumping out before hand of course.

I think that engine that blew on me has made me paranoid. I thought it was clutch smoke then suddenly a track marshal ran down the track at me screaming as I walked off and I turned around and the car was in flames, don't know how I missed that
Those 1kg fire extinguishers are car savers, I carry one always now![]() |

My last one blew in front of traffic on a 4 lane highway and flames were shooting out the engine lid. I was like WTF my car is going to burn to the ground. But it went out by the time I stopped. And it looked like the daytona 500 on my ass and not 1 person stopped to see if I was ok! A-Holes!!!

LOL, I wouldn't stop unless it was a fellow MR2 owner and I didn't have to be anywhere in a hurry

Don't worry not everyone is bad, I would have stopped. If I was there I could have sold you my extinguisher for a nominal fee rofl. I love how people don't care but if they are in trouble they expect someone to help. This thread is heading way off topic lol.
