AW11 is the chassis code. If you're wondering engine however the first gen or mkI all have the 4age Dual OverHead Cam 16 valve the 87-89 were available with a supercharged version known as the 4agze. Chassis code for the mkII was the SW20. The chassis code for the MR Spyder is ZZW30.

like mr2silvertop said, AW11 is a chassis code.
  • A indicated the engine family, either a 3A-LU, 4A-GE or 4A-GZE engine.
  • W means MR2
  • The first 1 means 1st Generation of the MR2
  • The second 1 indicates the cars' trim level, in this case it just shows a chassis code. AW15 shows that the car is a supercharged model.

SW20 refers to a second generation MR2, and ZZW30 to a third generation.

Another example; SW22
  • S indicated the engine family, either a 3S-GE or 3S-GTE.
  • W means MR2
  • The first 2 means 2nd Generation of the MR2
  • The second 2 indicates the cars' trim level, in this case it shows that the car is a turbocharged model, so it has a 3S-GTE.

  • 3SGTE Upper Timing Belt Cover
  • Driver's side seatback - must have bolster and lumbar adjustments, cover condition does not matter - will trade non-adjustable.
  • Genuine Tom's Sides and Rear - replica kits not considered
  • Frunk Plastics - no cracks
  • Mechanical Gauge Cluster - KP/H preferred, but not required.
  • Engine Bay X Brace

AW15 is the sport trim meaning it had the spoiler and lower trim painted to match the body also usually has all of the bells and whistles (pw,pl,etc). Kind of like LX.
