I got a whole tie rod/bearing kit from him for less than that.

Inner tie rod purchase

Hi. I was able to get the right front inner tie rod from a local import parts store for $9 (hard to believe since Toyota wanted about $130). I am in Portland, Oregon. I'm also looking for info on doing the work on replacing this. It looks somewhat complex--I'm thinking of having it done at a local auto garage. Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated. --Bruce

hey trforfun, what about an outer tie rod, rear driverside? mine is bad, and best deal i can find is 60 bucks. If that same parts store has a better deal by a lot, I'd like to buy it from them...

thanks

Rear Tie Rod

Hi. I can call them and see what they can get. I'm in Portland, Oregon. Where are you? What year is your MR2? Mine is an 85. Shipping will add a few bucks but might still be worth it. I will try to call today--I'm very busy at work. It's Tuesday morning. --Bruce

Rear Tie Rod Info/Pricing

I called my local import place and their price for the rear tie rod is $82. It would need to be ordered and take about 2 days. That's the best price they had. Not much better than your $100 price considering shipping, etc. Hope this helps.

hmmm...
sorry, I dont think I'll take that deal. Considering i can get one for 60 bucks four miles away from my house...
But still, thanks for helping me out. I'd thought that since the inner tie rod was so cheap, the outer would be too. I guess I'll just have to suck it up and buy a new one. All I did was strip the thread on the friggen ball join bolt. Now i need that whole outer tie rod...
