AW11 does not go into gear!!!

Why would it not want to go into gear??
i checked the fork "something" above the transmission
right under the thermostat housing and it had a bent piece on inside the cover. so i got a new part...
it started working well again...
then boom it doesn't want to be normal again.
it will go into first and second..
but not into the rest or neutral!!...
AHH what can it be!!!!!!

when u say it wont go into gear do u mean it goes in physically but nothing happens or physically just wont go in? id say could be a bent shift fork or a bad syncro. if u cant rebuild the inside of the trans yourself your best bet is to go get a junk yard trans for about 250$ ....but thats just my opinion

well i would say you either have a cable problem or a trans internal problem the easiest to eliminate is the cables....check um out where they connect to the transmission. if no problems are found there then i would say u have an internal transmission problem

well i would say if it stuck in the way you explained it would be a bent shift fork. if it were a syncro i would think it would shift but not go into gear. im really surprised no one else has offered no information on this. i know on mine it had a similar problem where it was stuck in one gear. if you have the tools to take apart the trans i suppose you can fix it yourself though. if u wanna go that route the first thing to do is remove the cables from the trans and atempt to shift it by useing the levers coming off the transmission. if stuck i would say take apart and look for bent forks or shafts inside. if u look up a how a manual trans works diagram or something that might give u a better idea of what im saying. manual trans' are pretty simple and straight forward though u have you diff , input and output shafts, sliding gears and fixed gears on the shaft forks to move the sliding gears and shafts for the forks to ride on when you move the shifter you are moving the sliding gears to engage other gears.....ok actually your moving a syncro but same basic thing ....

I have the C50 transmission..
a little different but ya.

but i mean trial and error..
and if i make it work i have learned something new..
im not a big fan of taking my car to the shop..
i like my car to be worked on by me..
i can actually mean it when when i saw that my blood and sweat went into it..

im not saying take it to a shop i just think it will be more cost efficient to buy a trans from a junk yard if indeed it is an internal trans problem...hell im a mechanic and i would probable just go get a 250$ trans from a junk yard

In order to work on a tranny, you need a lot of expensive tools and be unusually skilled at mechanical work. I've rebuilt engines, bearings rings and all. But I wouldn't go inside one of our trannies for all the tea in china.

Just another input for the "get a junkyard tranny" chorus.
