C50 and C52 ECU ?!!!

Okay so i have a 1985 Mr2 with the C50 tranny..
i want to get another C50 but i heard about the 5th gear pop out...
so if i get a C52 tranny will i need to rewire and get another ECU or will the stock c50 ECU work on it??

As long as the two trannies being swapped are the same type, the ECU will work on either. ECU's come in manual, or automatic versions.

by same type he means like using a e series tranny (like the one on a 3s-ge) any c series tranny will work with that ecu. really the only major difference between the 2 is integrity of parts used.

There is no connection what so ever between the ECU and the manual tranny anyway. The ECU doesn't care which you use as long as you swap a manual for a manual you'll have no problems at all.

There is one connector and that is the one for the reverse lights and it has no effect on the ecu.
