Repair cost?
I had just recently bought a 85 MR2 with very bad rust on it. Parts of the Quarter panels are broken off. Side skirts are almost non-existant. Bumpers are ok, front needs a little work done. Anywhere i can buy the panels online?

My body kit was a Gypo kit from Ebay. I bought it from a guy who bought off Ebay, and then backed out of installing it.
I paid $300. for mine with shipping included. Expect to pay nearly double that for a unit from a parts dealer. It did not fit on well at all. Forget an easy fit. After you fit it on, it should be melded in with rivets, and fiberglass body filler (for strength). Its a lot of work. But fabbing up a bunch of sheet metal, cutting out body parts from a donor car would be even more work. Maybe you should find another Mk I with a better body and build a car up from the two cars. Sell the excess parts on Ebay to help finance it all? |

There was a guy on e-bay that has been posting cut off quaters, hes reposted them several times with no bids. If he is close to your area, shipping might be reasonable. Post what you need in parts wanted in MK1 parts needed andyou might find some.

The term quarters is unreasonable on these cars. They should be back thirds lol.

The Pimp my ride show would screw up my car beyond all recognition. After the show my car would weigh 1000 more pounds, most of that in ridiculous, over the top computer, video, audio nonsense. If any recipient of that show ever drove out to the suburbs, they'd be a laughingstock.
"Flibbity Flabbel" says the Grumpy Old Man. If you car can outrun a graduate of Pimp my Ride, you win. |

I would be really careful with that car man..
it already has rust on the fchassis.. theres a liquid you could buy to prevent the rust from spreading.. i would use it anywhere where there is rust.. just to be safe |

Its not bad, I use it frequently at work. Sometimes its a little risky but so far has turned out good. If you find something you like, ask for a pic from them to see what u r getting.
