write ups...

anyone know any 4age write ups o take off the head....
i got most of it down i just need specs and i need to know the exact sizes of allen wrenches that i will need!!...
info would be a big help thx!!!

The head bolts on the 4age us 10 mm twelve point socket types.

Usually everyone avoids 12 point sockets because the tend to slip and round off bolt caps. 6 point sockets are the way to go.

However to pull the head off a 4 age you need a 10 mm 12 point socket.

really?? i can go but a gator socket so i wont strip it..

anyways what is a good head gasket to use on the 4ag??
i heard when the metal ones mess up they mess up your engine also..
but i havent heard many people complain about it...
should i justget a copper one??

dude check out club4AGE.com that site has so much technical info on it i have lost entire evenings wasting away on my pc reading specs and what not...
you could prob find what you are looking for there if its not on here.

i typed "head gasket" in the search box and pulled up all kinds of threads.
it seems most go with OEM head gaskets unless they are not building to stock.

you do not need to take off those allen plugs, those huge allen plugs are core plugs for the head.

use OE composition head gasket, MLS require near mirror finish on both surfaces, copper requires O-ringing the block

take the head and block to the machine shop to check for deck and head straightness and resurface if require, as most likely either or both is warp and cause the head gasket to fail in the first place.
