Clutch Petal Adjustment
since i bought my car the engagement has alwasy been way to high. i mean i barely have to push the clutch petal down and it will engage (which would normally be like the free play area for most people) so i want to adjust it so its lower. i know where to adjust it any everything i just need to know which way would i turn the screw to adjust it so its lower to the floor? clockwise or counter-clockwise?
my other question is having it so high right now could that cause any damage? |

Maybe by adjusting the thing that attaches the master cylinder to the pedal would help out your situation. If you screw it in, it should lower your pedal. I'm not sure if that will help at all.

okay so i drove the car just alittle while ago and it seems like it didnt do a thing for me.. and id stay i turned it like 3-4 times.. maybe i turned it the wrong way.. could still use some help on which way to turn it to get engagement lower to the floor.
also could it be the clutch thats in the car that could cause it being so high? all i know is that the prev. owner put a 6-puck in. |

Did you loosen the nut behind it? If not it just spun the shaft. It's an adjuster lock type thing. I'm just trying to thing because I just put a new master in and I had the opposite problem so I had to bring it out so the dissengage wasnt 1cm from the floor. I think (key word is think) screwing it in would lower the pedal and then you'll have the free play you want.

Out of curiosity what fixed it? I have the same issue after the throw out bearing was replaced (it was on there pretty damn tight too and wouldn't move by hand).

i loosed the nut which is a 12 mm, while holding using a 14mm on the next part towards the petal. threaded the rod in towards the petal (which was turning counter-clockwise). at one point it was alittle hard to turn so u can either push on the petal alittle which should help or if its really tight and wont move just use vise-grips to just give it alittle turn.
