I dont think the MR2 ever really went mainstream. Remember how Supra prices shot up shortly after FnF came out?
Well their is nothing mainstream at all about a MR2, few people know anything about them, let alone remember them. They didnt send very many to America and the MKIV Supra will always be more in the limelight than the MR2 ever will so I dont see prices changing all that much. Rarity certainly doesnt play much of a factor (yet), look at the Celica alltrac, its a very rare car and it tends to go for less than the much more common MR2 Turbo does. |

This is an interesting topic...
but I think I can see MR2s going either way, up or down The good condition ones will probably go for $5,000 - $10,000 (Good paint, body kits, interior mods, turbo/beams, rims, etc. will probably raise the price) The bad condition ones will probably go for $2,500 - $5,000 (Paint chipping, stock, most likely N/As or blown turbos, missing stuff) I'm guessing that every year the MR2 #s are going down, MR2 owners crashing there cars, parting them out, making them rear clips, car getting junked for scrap metal, etc. So for anyone that wants a MR2 its going to be harder to find, and everyone that wants to sell there MR2 they might have to sell below what they want Just imagine if there was a MR2 in Tokyo Drift, these cars would've skyrocketed in price over stupid kids thinking they can drift and they'll drift into walls...lol I don't know what cars are in Fast and the Furious 4 but lets hope theres a MR2 in there somewhere instead of another stupid honda |

Of course the #'s of MR2's are going down, I think thats the case with every type of car in existence, as they get older, they get rarer.
Actually Im hoping our cars never go mainstream or appear in a FnF so that there prices will always be somewhat affordable, and n00bs who will crash them into walls wont become aware of their potential as a platform, because they give such amazing bang for the buck compared to most other cars that if people knew how amazing they were, they would quickly gain a lot of popularity had they ever gone mainstream. I got mine for $6500, it already ran 12's with less than $500 in bolt ons, and can get the same skidpad (.94g) as a Ferrari F40 from the factory and brake better than a Ferrari 360 Modena (60-0 in 107ft) in stock form. Whats not to like? Oh and it runs low 13's before dropping a dime in it, about as fast as a stock 03 Cobra before any modding has been done, I dont know any turbo 4cylinders capable of that back in 1994, but the MR2 was. |

the nsx and super is its own class. thats the reason its staying the same i have a 97 nsx i payed 21G for it and i am on its form, i hear that thay are getting cheaper now that more sports cars are coming out like the R35. the only cars that goes up will be Rear cars, cars that u cant get over here. so the more jdm it is the more it will cost.

Lol, with the economy going down and stuff, people who really can't afford them will sell them for whatever.
However, if the economy was stable, i'd say prices will go up, not scary high, but at least another grand. They are getting rare-er and rare-er, or at least in the east coast. Everyone likes exclusivity. |
